It is intended that $67,500 be <br /> transferred to the Conservation Lands Maintenance/ Improvement Account which is used to buy, maintain and to <br /> improve Conservation Lands. <br /> Recommendation: Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Curtis Frye. <br /> Motion: I move Article 22 be voted as printed in the warrant, with the exception of the phrase, "or take any <br /> other action thereto." <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 9:17 p.m. <br /> Article 23 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Selectmen to acquire, by purchase, eminent domain or otherwise, <br /> for conservation purposes, a certain parcel of land, being that land shown as lots 1,2, 3 and 4 on a "Plan of Land <br /> in Mashpee, Mass. Prepared For Tremont at Union Limited Partnership" by Down Cape Engineering, Inc. and <br /> dated December 18, 1997, also being shown on the 1997 Mashpee Assessors Maps as Map 116, Block 1, <br /> containing 6.2 acres, more or less, located on the west side of Great Oak Road just south of Abigail's Brook, to <br /> be held in the care and custody of the Conservation Commission pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40, Section 8C; and further, to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate, borrow, or transfer <br /> from available funds $220,000 for such purpose, including expenses incidental and related thereto, and to raise <br /> such appropriation, the Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be authorized to borrow $220,000 or any <br /> other sum under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Sections 7 and 8C and, if applicable, Chapter 40, section 8C of the <br /> General laws, or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the Town therefore; and further, to <br /> see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds $400 to the Issuance of Debt <br /> Account; and further, to see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen and / or Conservation <br /> Commission to apply for and accept Federal and/ or State grants, including reimbursement under Chapter 132A, <br /> Section 11 of the General Laws, the "Self-Help Act", to be applied by the Town toward the financing of this <br /> purchase, and to enter into contracts or agreements with Federal and / or State agencies, private conservation <br /> trusts or other entities or persons in connection with the purchase of such land and its preservation for <br /> conservation purposes; and finally, to see if the Town will authorize the Conservation Commission and the Board <br /> 24 <br />
