Article 30 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend Chapter 15, Article III, Section 15-7 of the Code of the <br /> Town of Mashpee by deleting the phrase, ". . . the rate of twenty-five cents ($0.25) per mile of <br /> travel. . ." and inserting in its place, ". . . the rate of thirty cents ($0.30) per mile of travel. . .", or <br /> take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Treasurer/Tax Collector <br /> Explanation: At the present time, employees who must use their own vehicles for Town <br /> business do not receive reimbursement equivalent to the actual cost of using their vehicle, (the <br /> present standard mileage rate of the Internal Revenue Service is thirty cents ($.30) per mile). <br /> They are at a disadvantage compared to employees who have the use of a Town vehicle. <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee recommends approval. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn. <br /> Motion: I move Article 30 be voted as printed in the warrant except for the phrase, "or take any <br /> other action relating thereto." <br /> Motion passes unanimously 9:27 p.m. <br /> Article 31 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to amend the language of Section 15-16 of Article VII, Chapter 15 <br /> of the Mashpee Code by deleting the current language of said section and substituting the <br /> following: <br /> "A committee, to be known as the "Capital Program Committee," shall be established to prepare a <br /> Capital Improvement Program. This Committee shall perform the duties specified in the <br /> following sections and shall consist of the five (5) members: A member of the Board of <br /> Selectmen, the chairman of the Finance Committee, and (1) member, appointed jointly by the <br /> Board of Selectmen and the Finance Committee, from the heads of all departments, boards or <br /> committees which have one (1) or more capital projects in the six years encompassed by the plan. <br /> In addition, the Board of Selectmen shall appoint another member of the Capital Program <br /> Committee who, upon initial appointment, shall serve a term to expire June 30, 1996, and <br /> thereafter to serve for a two year term. In addition, the Finance Committee shall appoint another <br /> member of the Capital Program Committee who, upon initial appointment, shall serve a term to <br /> expire June 30, 1997, and thereafter to serve for a two year term. Said appointees of the Board <br /> of Selectmen and of the Finance Committee shall not be Town employees or a members (sic) of <br /> another Town board or commission." <br /> Submitted by Petition <br /> Recommendation: The Finance Committee does not recommend approval. <br /> 19 <br />
