Article 34: ART_ 34_ To see if the Town will cote to raise and appropriate sir t2se firm available funds the Burn of $93,500 to construct a Municipal Maintenance Building, on a site selected by the Town Building, Needa, Committee, or take any other action thereon, Sub- mitted by Highway Department NOT (RECOMMENDED Green: i make a motion we accept this Art isle as read. Garland : I request Mr. Green, to explain in detail, the whats , the whys and the wherefores , in regard to any town complex that .s intended to be built. Green: I think you have seen the bulletin board in the lobby and the one here. I have been trying to better conditions in the Highway Department for over two ;years. The present building was built to house one grader, and one fire-gig. The Town as a whole has no idea of the projected growth. We have expanded to over twice the size in the number of vehicles that have to be parked there . We have trucks belonging to the Park Department and others wbi ch are housed there. All of these conveyances are necessary and we feel this coverage for them is necessary. I am not Grp to explaining the thing the way you desire , I would like to ask Mr:; Jim amain to come forward, and explain what a Highway i.nd Public Works i Department consists of. Last year Mr. Green circulated copies of a report prepared by the Building Deeds and Highway. I approve of the Article and I feed_ it will help the Highway Department to reduce highway cost. As it is they have to leave, a lot of Town owned equipment out exposed to the weather.
