Minutes of Meeting of
Design Review Committee
Tuesday, March 16, 2021
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Joe made a motion to continue the sign application for 735 Falmouth Road and will
continue with a date to be determined by the applicant and rescheduled with Mary
Ann. Jonathan seconded, yes, Joe, yes, Miles, yes, and Dave, yes. All were in favor
to continue the meeting.
Protect Address: 800 201 B Falmouth Road
Business Name: Foundations Group Recovery Centers
Sign Company: Matthew Anderson with Kiwi Signs Co.
Request: 30 sq. ft. back lit wall sign installed to building.
Matt represented the applicant for a sign that will be halo lit, and has a rear
illumination on the anchor, and the wording. It's fabricated with high density urethane
and aluminum composite material. The smaller letters will be '/4" cast acrylic, and the
bottom tag line is vinyl lettering. The sign is 120" by 36" which is 30 sq. ft. The wall
area is 540 sq. ft. It's 5.5%. He said he can reduce it slightly. There will be 12 volt
LED that face the wall, not the front of the sign. The lettering is opaque and a
transparent back. The letter is spaced off the back background by 2". The light will
illuminate the black with a shadow.
Jonathan said that there's a 5% limit on all walls. It's 10% for the front. He has no
issues.
Miles asked if the white lettering was transparent.
Jonathan made a motion to accept the sign presentation for 800 201 B Falmouth
Road. Joe seconded, yes, Miles, yes, Jon, yes, and Dave yes.
Project Address: 20 Evergreen Circle
Business Name: Evergreen Band LLC
Owner/Agent: Capewide Construction
Architect/Engineer: Dan O'Jala with Down Cape Engineering
Request: 7,320 Sq. ft. Morton Building for use of garage storage and office
space.
Attorney Kevin Kirrane represented the Cape Cod Gutter Monkeys who will be a
tenant in the building that is owned by Evergreen Band LLC. The Board may recall
that in 2018, this project was approved by both Design, Plan Review, and the ZBA
for the construction of two buildings. At the time the applicant was RCA Electrical
Contractors. This project is almost identical to the project that was approved with the
exception that there was only one building proposed as opposed to two buildings.
The larger building is the one that will be built. The smaller building is not part of the
development plan. The parking has been reduced slightly to accommodate the fact
that there is not much square footage, and as a result the need for a number of
parking spaces that were previously approved by the Board are not required.
2
