8 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 26, 2021 <br /> Discussion and Approval Santuit Pond MVP Grant Submission: Natural Resources Director Ashley Fisher: <br /> (continued) <br /> Ms. Fisher explained this is a re-submission from the 2020 grant submittal that would provide funding for <br /> watershed-based solutions to increase resilience to harmful algal blooms in Santuit Pond. Goals of the <br /> project would address the following; <br /> Sceptic surveys, educational forums, informational kiosk in the Santuit Pond Preserve, <br /> Stormwater assessment, <br /> Increase of the Wetlands Buffer Zone to 300' rather than the 100', <br /> Increase the Nitrogen/Phosphorus Bylaw to 300' rather than the 100', <br /> Evaluate and modify the Current Nitrogen Control Bylaw to be a Nutrient Control Bylaw, Net Zero <br /> Application, <br /> Nutrient Control Bylaw enforcement, assessment and education, <br /> Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe; make known the significant cultural importance of Santuit Pond, kiosk and <br /> educational videos, working in unison with the Tribe's DNR and appointed Tribal educational liaison, <br /> Recommendations to further reduce overall nutrient availability within the pond. <br /> It was noted the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe is also reviewing the possibility of a dredging feasibility study, <br /> and there is potential to fund the Chop Chaque Cranberry Bog restoration. <br /> To qualify for the grant funding a letter of support is required to be included in the filing by May 7, 2021. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to approve the Santuit Pond MVP Grant submission as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Fiscal Year 2022 Transfer Station Sticker Fees: DPW Director Catherine <br /> Laurent: <br /> The Board of Selectmen conducted their annual review of the sticker fees at the Transfer Station for the next <br /> fiscal year. With the approval of the proposed fees, the new"Guides to the Transfer Station"would be <br /> published. Fees would be posted on the Town's website. <br /> It is recommended the I't household sticker fee be increased to $190. This is a$5 increase. All other fees <br /> would remain the same. With similar sales and revenue, the proposed fees are expected to fund 100% of the <br /> Transfer Station operation. <br />
