10 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 26, 2021 <br /> Undate, Discussion and Possible Action Relative to Wastewater Project(s): <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the action taken and education provided to the voters to assist in their <br /> decision to fund Phase I of the Town of Mashpee's Clean Water plan, There has been a great deal of effort <br /> and collaboration amongst many contributors in this endeavor. It is hopeful the voters would be well <br /> informed with the videos and information disseminated on MTV,the Town's webpage and social media <br /> forums. Flyers are expected to be distributed and made available at the May 3, 2021 Town Meeting. <br /> This project has been ongoing for the past 30 years. It is the largest expenditure before the Mashpee <br /> community. Information has been provided as to the specifics,the importance of clean water and regarding <br /> the funding aspect of the proposal. Voters were urged to attend Town Meeting and again at the Town <br /> Election to vote their opinion. <br /> Discussion of May 3, 2021 Town Meeting Articles and Motions: <br /> The Board of Selectmen after hearing objection regarding Article 7 of the Annual Town Meeting warrant <br /> moved forward with the following action. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to Indefinitely Postpone Article 7 of the Annual Town Meeting <br /> warrant on Town Meeting floor, and request the Town Manager seek an alternate location for the <br /> siting of a sewer pump station. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb, yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion with the Town Manager with Regard to the Provisions of Littering; <br /> Appreciation was given to the volunteer stewards who participated in the recent clean-up around the Town of <br /> Mashpee. Littering is difficult to control and the Town is currently adhering to the maximum fine allowable <br /> by law. Fines will be imposed for littering. Prevention is the key and it is hopeful that others will eventually <br /> take pride in their community. The Board of Selectmen is receptive to methods to prevent future littering. <br /> Discussion and Approval of Board of Selectmen Meeting Schedule July through December, 2021: <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the proposed Meeting Schedule from July 2021 through December 21, <br /> 2021 as provided by Terrie Cook Administrative Assistant in her memorandum of April 22, 2021. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to accept the Board of Selectmen Meeting Schedule as presented <br /> from July through December, 2021. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Weeden. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Weeden, yes Opposed, none <br />
