` - Mashyee Inclusion and Diversity Committee
16 Great Xeck Road Worth
Nashpee, M,.2'l. 02649
day. There was a lack of community involvement with several voters that need to
be reached for municipal level voting.
Chairwoman moved on to speak of the Town Meeting and how it was emotional
with record turnout for clean town water. She said it was wonderful to hear the
speakers, especially Tribal members, and the importance of our environment. The
vote was unanimous, when asked all opposed, there was complete silence and
that was stunning. Then everyone cheered, so that is the value of community.
Human Rights Academy had a great presentation that Chairwoman Stevenson
shared via email to the Committee.
Ms. Stevenson spoke to the Gay Straight Alliance advisor at the school, who sadly
mentioned they have not met this year because zoom meetings were difficult to
coordinate for in school students and at home due to privacy. Chairwoman
Stevenson felt this was significant to mention, and hopefully they will start again
when the students are back in school.
Mr. Kupferman has submitted MIDC article for The Enterprise, and it will feature
Ms. Jo-Ann Nadeau.
Finally, Violence Against Women Commission is starting in the town. Ms. Wilson
(Gail) and Ms. Johnson- Graham will be members of this committee, which is
awesome. Chairwoman will add this to the agenda so they can provide updates.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
No comments to report currently.
MEMBER UPDATES:
Postponed
