Mr. Dunn also asked to see the numbers for usage amount on a yearly basis.
Anastasia said they will put a table together of estimated weights so we can further
discuss.
Bulk chemicals in containment?
Yes they are contained, will be filled using fill lines.
M-300 — Valve vault— access the gate valves from above ground rather than
having to enter the vault.
Design intent is to minimize water intrusion into the vault, and install one hatch. You
should be able to reach in from the top and not have to enter the contained space.
Is there a manlift that is going to be provided?
Yes, the design is to incorporate DAVIT cranes in order to comply with OSHA. There will
be at least a base near every confined space, it would be a limited number of cranes to
be used on the bases. They will probably be stored in the process building.
Stay away from Proprietary equipment (if at all possible)
We're in the middle of compiling a letter of our recommendations.
Include a RPZ repair kit.
RPZ is a reduced pressure zone valve.
Include flushing pumps for piping (like Chatham)
This will be considered in the next phase of the design.
Include spare conduits
Spares are included in the design.
Require sewer tape & tracer wire
No comments.
Consider hiring an outside vendor for sewer cleaning needs rather than capital
Would the contractor that runs the facility have to flush the lines? It's recommended, if in
the budget, to hire an outside company to flush the lines.
Include Computerized Maintenance program/software for PM & CM needs
(Preventative and Computer Maintenance) Basically it's a management plan to keep track
of what needs to be replaced. The first step is to coordinate with the Town (DEP & IT)
what types of programs are being used to see if we can intubate with those systems.
Where is the station's intrusion alarms going to? SCADA? Dial up? Central
monitoring station?
That's also part of the conversation with DEP & IT. This comment is specifically for
security.
Will the manholes that LPS discharge into be epoxied?
Yes, it's a coating on the inside of the manholes to prevent corrosion.
Will the LPS system have flushing stations?
We put as much gravity as possible in this system, so we won't need this.
The supplemental Carbon Tanks are located inside the building, what product
is planned for this use? MBK
No comment.
I did not see chemical containment alarms on these plans. MBK
There are 3 separate alarms, for the different types of chemicals.
The scum lines at the WRRF are shown to discharge to sludge tanks. Consider
discharge to influent option to help reduce sludge production. MBK
Our proposal is to put the scum in tanks to be hauled away, versus adding it back to the
system.
What is to be provided for in house laboratory testing equipment and where is
this testing to be performed? MBK
