There's likely a few tests we can't send out, so there will be an area to do that. We're
looking at different options now.
Mr. Lyons suggested keeping it all together in the office.
Collection system ARV's should discharge to nearby gravity sewer MH when
available. MBK Plan C-502
Air Release Valves to let air out and release this. When possible, we should have that
release valve in a bin.
Mr. Fudala asked about odors coming from the collection system.
Anastasia Rudenko said they are typically periodic, the pump stations themselves have
odor control.
Joe Lyons asked if the pumping stations will be vented, Anastasia confirmed they will be.
Anne Malone asked how much odor to expect?
Anastasia said we're determining how many high points we have now, we'll be able to
speak more to that during the 90% design.
Ken Dunn asked how many ARV's will be in the system. Anastasia said she will send that
information out with the proposed number of ARV's.
Mr. Fudala asked if the pump stations are both vented and if the air is filtered. Anastasia
confirmed both will be in place.
Buffalo box preferred by W&S operators for manual ARV's. Easier to clean than
Erie boxes where there would be no rod present in riser. MBK Plan C-502
There are 2 different styles of boxes for the ARV's.
Manual ARV's should have 1" stainless steel cam and groove hose fittings.
Will be taken into consideration and included.
Anodized aluminum at a minimum as plain aluminum corrodes and oxidizes
very quickly. MBK Plan C-502
Will be taken into consideration and included.
Automatic ARV's should have an isolation valve at its immediate base. Plan
shows FM isolation for ARV replacement. There is no fast way to turn off a
bad/leaking ARV otherwise. MBK Plan C-505
Will be included.
Submersible pump lifting chains at the pump stations should have rating tags
attached. Otherwise, chain strength and provenance are unknown. MBK Plan
M-101
We'll have a tag so you know how much weight they can hold.
The stilling well for the wet well level pressure sensor at the pump stations
could be problematic if scum and grease buildup are an issue, the holes in the
stilling well pipe can clog causing erroneous level readings and pump starts
where a high level or pump going air bound issue could occur. MBK Plan I-002
Truro Road, house #9 sewer connection is not shown on profile. MBK Plan C-
120
These are primarily residential areas, grease will be minimal. It would be more of a
concern with something like restaurant use.
Both Ken Dunn and Joe Lyons commented that this is not a big concern.
Mr. Fudala asked if there are any other questions/comments from the Commissioners:
Mr. Lyons said we still have potential problems getting a semi in and turned around, the
12ft wide entry is too narrow. Anastasia Rudenko said she will look at options.
