yet a requirement, the decision was made not to budget for it. Mr. Harrington predicted that the
requirement for PFAS testing would be forthcoming.
The report reflected that groundwater monitoring well W-11, adjacent to the DPW building, is in
need of repair. Ms.Warden had contacted Dennis Scannell to determine his availability to bid on
that work, and Dennis responded that he would reach out to the office. Mr. Harrington will check
the exact location of W-11,and then contact Tighe&Bond to have them secure additional quotes.
Chair Baumgaertel requested that Mr. Harrington provide the Board with a map of the well
locations.
7. Discussion of COVID vaccination plan. Mr. Harrington commented that Barnstable County was
setting up a regional site at the Barnstable Fairgrounds, which will be open to upper Cape towns.
Mashpee Health Agents support this plan and are looking forward to participating. Mr. Harrington
stated that, realistically, the site would not open for a couple of weeks. The state is proposing
that Phase 11 will not start until mid-February, with the remaining groups in Phase I being
vaccinated in 2-3 weeks. The County was sent numbers, based on demographics provided by the
Town Clerk and Town Planner. Fifteen sites throughout the state will receive a total of 10,000
doses. Mlashpee Walgreens is one of those sites.
Board of Health office staff participated in PrepMod training, which was offered by the state.
Three people from the Council on Aging took the training as well, for the purpose of helping
seniors to register and schedule appointments. A message has been put on social media, letting
residents know about Blackboard Connect, the Town's emergency alert system. Residents can
call our office and we will add them to the system. Chair Baumgaertel asked if it would be
worthwhile to put flyers up at the grocery stores, and Mr. Harrington said that could be done.
Our office has had many, many vaccination-related inquiries. At the County level, they have five
people answering a hotline,to provide general vaccination information and to register people for
the clinics.
Mr.Virgilio inquired when the registrations might start, and Mr. Harrington answered that we will
not have that answer until the state notifies us that we are getting vaccine. We are hoping to
have a week's lag time between the state advising us that vaccine is coming, to the date that
residents can begin scheduling appointments.
Chair Baumgaertel commented that there was a total lack of planning at the national level, which
has left states competing for resources. Mr. Harrington commented that the county has hired 30
nurses with a stable of 100volunteers,so the labor force is there, but nothing can happen without
vaccine. Mr. Harrington indicated that he has not connected with the VNA, but their role is
possibly going to be mobile units that can go around to smaller areas, such as condominium
ossi
complexes. Both the VNA and County can receive doses for the Town and distribute them.
OTHER BUSINESS
Ms. Warden inquired if the owner of 100 Great Neck Road has been submitting the required weekly
monitoring reports,. and Mr. Harrington answered in the affirmative, stating that they have pumpings
nif
scheduled twice a week.
Ms.Warden asked for an update on 97 Sunset Strip..and Mr. Harrington answered that he has heard from
owner a few times.
