The Chairman expressed concern that what is currently being proposed is very <br /> different from what was initially proposed. He mentioned the to corner buildings on <br /> Route 28 that could have provided large employment opportunities for the Town, which <br /> is no longer being proposed. <br /> James.Leonard expressed disappointment that the developer has met with Cape <br /> Cod Commission on a number of occasions and that the planning Board has not been <br /> included. <br /> Mr. Storrs responded that nothing has yet been decided at the Cape Cod <br /> Commission level. Staff discussions have taken place in response to Mr. Storrs' <br /> requirement to meet the mirtimurn performa.nce.standards. <br /> There was some discussion regarding the Trout Pond parcel boundaries. <br /> James Leonard suggested that the Planning Board process should nt go forward <br /> without knowing the ultimate decision regarding the Trout Pond parcel. <br /> Mr. Storrs responded that he is happy to discuss Trout pond,but not to include it <br /> in the permitting process at this time as it is the least defined of the three neighborhoods <br /> from a.planning standpoint. He stated it would be `massively expensive" application <br /> process to bring Trout Pond forward with the Cape Cod Commission. I�e indicated it is <br /> uncertain as to how the area is going to bedeveloped/used and in light of the numerous <br /> constraints,he does not see the benefit in bringing it forward at this time. <br /> Dennis Bat * i indicated he had no issue with the Trout Pond parcel being <br /> brought Forward as a lRI at some point in the future. <br /> The Town Planner explained that MEPA required the Trout Pond parcel to be <br /> included as far back as 1 , a part of the overall plan for Mashpee Commons property. <br /> Mr. Storrs agreed to provide sketch plans and engage in discussion for the Trout <br /> Pond parcel, but not bringing it Forward during the formal application process. <br /> The Chairman acknowledged that the Cape Cod Commission has not been in <br /> co nu i'cation with the Planning Board in this regard and that any information has been <br /> brought forward by Mr. Storrs. <br /> The Chairman then inquired as to that portion of land that had previously been <br /> reserved for the Boch Center. <br /> Mr. Storrs-responded that the entire area is under restriction by National Heritage. <br /> IF he were to bring this forward at this time it would not only be extremely expensive, he <br /> would be required to set aside seventy 0% percent of the land or provide mitigation in <br /> excess of$400, . . <br /> 6 <br />
