East Steeple Street—The age restricted multi-family housing building has been <br /> moved back from the edge ofset back at Route 28 and'Donna's Lane. The intersection at <br /> Commercial Street and f onna's Lane has been moved, to avoid Commercial Street being. <br /> aligned with South Street. Forest Street has been relocated further to the east so that it <br /> does not align too closely with Commercial Street at South Cape village. The Garden <br /> Street curb cut has been eliminated in order to simplify traffic movements. <br /> Improvements have been made to simplify the parking lots on both sides ofForest <br /> Street, behind the buildings. Both parking areas now have two curb cuts. Commercial <br /> Street has been moved and straightened as it.intersects with the pinwheel green. One of <br /> the townhouses,on East Fountain Street has been removed; the office building has been <br /> relocated away from Route 28, creating another access into the.-parking lot. <br /> live/work building-has.been removed from East Steeple Street in order to <br /> eliminate the:dead-end and create a safer and more logical access-. The curb cut at the <br /> north,end of the site at Mashpee.Commons has been realigned to the south side of the <br /> building. <br /> Forth hart Street—A to-story mixed use, residential above building has been <br /> eliminated. The buildings on all four,sides of the pinwheel green square have been <br /> simplified, the footprints have-been-decreased in size and the shapes/angles have been <br /> altered. The size of the building directly on the south side of the.green has been <br /> decreased. <br /> Mr. Storrs made reference-t the bike path that ruffs along the northern boundary <br /> of the property, showing renderings for the bike path at_2o-ft. away from the-buildings, <br /> and one berg o-ft. away roan the property line).. He suggested the bike path be <br /> engaged with the buildings as it will also be used as a walking path and therd 1,611 also b <br /> sidewalks. <br /> llrlr. Storrs stated that he feels the plan have been more simplified and the <br /> program of both neighborhoods have been reduced (less.square footage, fewer units, <br /> etc.). <br /> In response.to an observation made by James Leonard that the retail space appears <br /> to have been reduced, Mr. Storrs agreed that there has been.,an approximate % reduction <br /> for Forth Market Street and 10% for East Steeple. <br /> (The Town Planner arrived at the meeting at this,point, :1 o p.m. <br /> There was some discussion.regarding the differences between the proposed 20-ft. <br /> and o-ft. for the bile path/walk way. iris. Rowley suggested that perhaps the 20-ft. <br /> distance might be a little confining especially with regard to the uses. Residents might <br /> enjoy a bacl yard area.
