Amendment to Section 1 - .1—Allow Parking ofSchool Bus by Right in Any Zone
The appointed hour having arrived the Chairman called the Public Nearing in this
matter to-order.
Joseph Mullin addressed the Chair noting that the Petitioners were not present at
the meeting.
There being-no further Board, Staff, or Public comment the Chairman entertained
a notion to close the Public Hearing.
MOTION: Tennis Balzarini made a Motion to close the Public Hearing in this
matter; which Motion was duly seconded by Joseph Mullin and so voted unanimously.
MOTION: Joseph Mullin made Motion stating the Planning Board does not
support or recommend the proposed article; which Motion was duly seconded by Dennis
lalarini.
Voting in Favor: Thomas O'Hara, Dennis Bal arini, and Joseph Mullin.
Abstaining from the Vote: Mary waygan.
Town load Takings
Article 1 -Accept the Layout of Horseshoe Bend Way
The Town Planner reported that the road.is Iocated on the northwest side.of
Ashumet Pond, off`of Falmouth/Sandwich Road.d. The layout is - t. and.the pavement is
proposed to be a I - t. wide ore-way street.
The'Town has made Catherine Laurent aware of the Town bylaw that requires a
20-f . access for Fire Department access. The DPW response was that the proposed
roadway would be an improvement of the current conditions a dirt road). The
improvements will include roan paving, drainage, and snow plowing. If anyone wishes
to construct a home on this roadway, it would require a variance from the Zoning Board
of Appeals.
There was some discussion regarding the conditions of a one-way roadway and
whether or not the current residents are aware of the roadway being proposed as one-way.
There was also discussion-regarding the1ength of the road.
Selectman Richardson suggested that the residents are aware of the proposed
conditions as the DPW has made an inspection and calculated the betterment costs in
order to inform the abutters who have requested the changes. He stated, "Any changes
are going to'increase their costs.(theoretically), and if it is going to be a one-way road
they would have had to be told by now".
6
