with the buildin&set basks,they an be relocated; however he is hesitant to pull therm <br /> back too far. <br /> With regard to Commercial Street, Mr. Storrs explained that the roadway has been <br /> designed to be a one-way around the pinwheel green n and that a safety test will be <br /> performed by auto tun computer program,and approval by the Fire Department. <br /> The Chairman expressed some reluctance regarding the pinwheel green, <br /> suggesting that more information be presented to the Board in this regard, to which Mr. <br /> Storrs agreed. He also stated that the pinwheel green would prove to strengthen the <br /> commercial area and'slows t�af is doWn at the same time. <br /> Again making reference to the plan, Mr. Storrs pointed out that the proposed over <br /> age-55 independent luring facility has been relocated farther back from the street, at the <br /> Board's suggestion, and will provide i 0%parking underneath the building. There will <br /> be an outdoor raised courtyard above street level. <br /> The traffic engineer is advising that the streets not be directly lined up with <br /> Commercial Street, to not be a direct access in order to discourage cars from speeding <br /> through. The curb cut at Forest Street has been eliminated at the Board's request. An <br /> additional entryway has been added to the parking area, again as requested by the Board. <br /> The roadways-have been designed to balance Commercial Street rather than to close it. <br /> Mr. Storrs spoke to the ability tb be flexible, stating the plan should be put in <br /> place fiat; streets, blocks, use and building details should be-secondary. <br /> The Town Planner expressed concern for sight distances on Forest Street, stating <br /> that he feels the way it is currently being proposed is too dangerous. He suggested it <br /> either should be lined up with Commercial Street or moved to the crest of the hill. <br /> Making reference to the topography he suggested the roadway be relocated further to the <br /> east. <br /> Mr. Storrs agreed to consider moving the roadway to either line up with <br /> Commercial Street, or moving it farther eastward. <br /> The Chairnian expressed her desire to see seating/resting areas throughout the <br /> project in accordance with new Cape Cod Commission standards, to which IIr1r. Storrs <br /> had no objections. <br /> The Town Planner would like to see a round-about constructed at the intersection <br /> Don a's Lane and mat Deck Road,to which W. Storrs wholeheartedly agreed. <br /> t this point Dennis Balzarini suggested that the Town's best interest should be <br /> represented by a consultant, especially for issues of mitigation. <br /> 4 <br />
