e
} Mash ee 1"ncCusim and Diversity Committee
p y
16 Great Neck Road NorTh
Mashpee, ,7V1A 02649
Ms. Stevenson commented there is a policy that needs to be adhered to in moving this
process forward. She has asked Rachel Hicks to come on the Zoom today at 5:30p.m. to
conduct an interview for her membership. The questionnaire was sent to the Town
Manager because it had to be reviewed in accordance to Open Meeting Law.
Disseminating the paperwork is okay, but responses cannot be gathered until in open
session. The questionnaire will then be attached to the meeting minutes. In preparation for
the interview she compiled a list that was given to her by Ms. Landry. Madam Chair is
asking for any changes or additions.
Mr. Kupferman, Mr. Fand, and Ms. Nadeau all agree they look good.
Ms. Stevenson encouraged impromptu questions to be asked. There is still another
opening as we say goodbye to Ms. Nadeau today. She has an idea for recruitment. She
asked the Committee if it would be helpful to do a column on what is gained from
participating and volunteering.
Mr. Kupferman thinks that is a great idea. He could call Sue Wilson and talk to Ms. Nadeau
and review some of the things that Ms. Nadeau spoke to. He thinks it's a great recruiting
tool and would appreciate a paragraph or two of everyone's experience.
Ms. Nadeau mentioned she was the one who encouraged Ms. Hicks to apply. She also
approached a man this morning in Zumba class asking of his interest. She would like to
note if someone is identified they should be invited to sit on a meeting. She referred him to
the website and she will follow up Friday. If he is still interested, she will have him write a
letter of intent with a resume and forward to the Select Board. The Committee would
conduct and interview via open session. From there, they will be sent to the Town Manager
and then appointed and sworn in. The process can be timely.
Ms. Stevenson would like the parameters for conducting this process via Zoom. She just
wants to make sure it is in place.
Ms. Landry stated she can have responses sent to her in Human Resources.
Ms. Nadeau commented however people feel comfortable getting them to Ms. Landry,
everyone has the form, it can be dropped off or E-mailed.
Ms. Stevenson will send a reminder to get responses to Ms. Landry, then they can be
forwarded to Mr. Collins.
3.
