MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> AUGUST 10, 2022 <br /> Ms. Sangeleer read the Board of Health comments dated August 10, 2022 into the record,the Plan <br /> Review recommendations dated June 7, 2022 in the record. She also read the letter from Attorney <br /> Mills, dated June 29, 2022 into the record. <br /> Mr. Bonvie mentioned that the applicant will require an application with the PIanning Board for <br /> the sales of automobiles, and the Select Board for any licensing. <br /> Mr. Bonvie included the Encore Fire Protection proposal dated 10/14/2021 into the record. <br /> Mr. Reidy asked Attorney Mills if his letter dated June 29, 2022 had the updated information and <br /> revised plans regarding the tight tank system mentioned in the Board of Health comments. <br /> Attorney Mills mentioned that there were comments from the Plan Review Committee regarding <br /> the tight tank, and that meeting is generally where any issues are vetted prior to board meetings. <br /> There were no other comments from the Board. <br /> Mr. Morris mentioned that the Plumbing Inspector was here for any questions, and that he and the <br /> Fire Department inspected the building. The only issue seems to be the tight tank. <br /> Mr. Kevin Connolly, Plumbing Inspector told the Board he was present at the Plan Review <br /> meeting, and the plan that was submitted has the same drawing in the code book. But the drawing <br /> is an illustration only. There are different types that can be used. He mentioned an example of a <br /> tight tank was installed on Mercantile Way. These tanks are inspected by the Board of Health and <br /> are permitted, and inspected by the Plumbing Inspector as well. He explained that the venting <br /> could be retrofitted on this building. <br /> An abutter was concerned about the venting of the system. Mr. Bonvie mentioned that it will have <br /> to be constructed above the roof line. <br /> Mr. Morris said that the tight tank issue can be dealt with during the permitting process. <br /> Mr. Bonvie mentioned that the Board of Health has a certain amount of jurisdiction on tight tanks, <br /> and it's in their code. As one member, he is standing by the letter that was submitted by the <br /> Assistant Health Agent, especially the tight tank issue. <br /> Attorney Mills said he is willing to accept a condition that a tight tank plan be approved by the <br /> Plumbing Inspector and the Board of Health. <br /> Mr. Bonvie asked that the email/letter with code related information submitted by the Assistant <br /> Health Agent dated August 10, 2022 be referenced into the record.The letter explains the concerns <br /> of a "UIC" tight tank because the property location is located in a Zone II which directly abuts a <br /> public drinking water supply area. <br /> 3 <br />
