The developer would have to go through a comprehensive permit through
the Planning Board.
Mr. Lehrer replied that could depend on the permitting pathway. With the update of the LCP
coming up, that could be something to consider. These will be issues that will have to be
figured out. Most commercial projects in town are approved by the Zoning Board not Planning
Board, with some exception depending the developments size.
Mr. Isbitz would like Town Counsel to be involved to which Mr. Lehrer responded that was fine.
Ms. McCarthy inquired what EDIC should look at.
Mr. Lehrer stated the funds for procuring the engineering firm for the feasibility analysis be
made available prior to the execution of the contract, ideally early February.
Chair Sherman is looking for a motion to adjourn.
ADJOUNRMENT OF JOINT MEETING
MOTION:
It was moved by Ms. Dutson to adjourn the EDIC portion of the joint meeting with the
Affordable Housing Committee. Motion seconded by Ms. McCarthy. All in favor.
CONVENE MEETING OF THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE
CORRESPONDENCE AND COMMUNICATION
Letter to the Community Preservation Committee in support of applications for funds
submitted by the Mashpee Housing Authority.
Chairman Isbitz commented this was the letter the Committee authorized him to submit on its
behalf in support of the MHA for roofing at Breezy Acres and Homeyer Village. After consulting
with the DHCD regional program assistance team, it became clear to him Mashpee Housing
Authority staff and RCAT resources available are based out of Taunton Housing Authority and
they assist 68 other authorities. He elaborated there are four project managers and each one
in the RCAT team are there to assist 17 authorities in the development of their capital
improvement program. That funding is limited and it became clear that the Executive Director
is trying to leverage state funding for this purpose. Therefore, two CPC applications were
necessary. Mr. Isbitz sent the draft to the Committee via E-mail. The CPC approved all eight
applications. There was another application submitted asking for funding for a consultant for
the Housing Production Plan.
3
