9 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> January 6, 2022 <br /> Virgina Scharfenberg_ <br /> Application: Mashpee Community Garden Expansion - $18,086: <br /> For disclosure, it was noted that Mary Waygan's husband Mohamed Fand is a member of the <br /> Mashpee Community Garden Advisory Committee. There is no apparent conflict of interest to <br /> prohibit voting on this matter. <br /> The Mashpee Community Garden Expansion project is a continuation to support 14 additional <br /> garden plots to meet the current gardening demand. Work includes fencing, garden bed <br /> construction, demonstration gardens, pathways,expanded irrigation and water service areas. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Larkin to approve and recommend to the May 2022 Special Town <br /> Meeting the Mashpee Community Garden Expansion project in the amount of$18,086 <br /> with funding to derive from the CPA 10% Open Space/Recreation Reserve for this <br /> purpose. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Smith. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 9-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Mr. Gottlieb, yes Mrs. Thayer,yes Mr. Hyde, yes <br /> Mr. Larkin, yes Ms. Waygan,yes Ms. Barbee, yes Mr. Shackett, yes <br /> Mr. Smith yes Ms. Russell, yes Opposed, none <br /> Kimberly Conn; <br /> Application: Homever Village Roof Replacement - $168,084: <br /> For disclosure, it was noted that Mary Waygan's husband Mohamed Fand is a member of the <br /> Mashpee Housing Authority.There is no apparent conflict of interest to prohibit voting on this <br /> matter. <br /> A letter of support was received from Allan Isbitz of the Affordable Housing Authority dated <br /> January 5, 2022 for the Homeyer Village and Breezy Way projects. <br /> Questions were asked of Kimberly Conn, Executive Director of the Mashpee Housing Authority <br /> regarding the $168,084 application for CPA funding and if project costs would not exceed the <br /> requested sum, potential change orders or potential overage costs. <br /> In response to this question, it was disclosed a CPA award of$168,084 would cover the roof <br /> replacement project. Overages and change orders would be funded by HILAPP if the grant <br /> award is received. In the absence of the projected HILAPP award monies would be secured <br /> within the existing capital plan of the Mashpee Housing Authority. <br /> The applicant was noted to have responded sufficiently to questions with respect to this regard. <br />
