6:03 Peninsula Council, 0-RS RE Rock Landing Road (Frog Leap Pond). Proposed NOI

treatment and eradication of invasive aquatic vegetation.

Charles McCarthy and Keith Gazelle from Solitude Lake Management presented plans.

Agent said there’s not much to add, herbicides equal long-term control. He asked how long

the initial treatment would be effective.

Charles McCarthy said it should last the rest of the season, we’ll follow up and spot treat if

necessary.

Agent asked him to describe the methodology of applying the herbicide.

Charles McCarthy said it’s placed in a mixing tank and diluted with water from the pond. It’s

distributed by a boat in the areas we spotted the plants.

Agent said not too much to add, Solitude Lake Management has significant experience,

and this is what they specialize in. We can condition for advance notification before

application. Recommends close and issue.

Mr. Colombo asked if the two other chemicals are included with the initial application?

Charles McCarthy said yes, 3 chemicals included in the application.

Frank Gazelle clarified they are included in the program as a contingency, but may not

need to be used. The focus of the application is just the one chemical.

MaryAnn Gansmiller, an abutter, and member of the Committee that maintains the pond,

made a public comment that they are happy this is happening.

Mr. Dalton motioned to close and issue.

Mr. Weeden seconded the motion.

Vote: 5-0-0

Roll Call Vote:

Ms. Zollo; yes

Mr. Weeden; yes

Mr. Dalton; yes

Mr. Colombo; yes

Mr. Smith; yes

In favor, 5; Opposed, 0; Abstentions, 0

David M. & Ana S.
