10 <br /> Community Preservation Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> December 8, 2022 <br /> Richard De: o her,Historical Commission-Historical River Signs_Pro ect: <br /> The project was deferred to the next meeting due to illness. <br /> Andrew McManus CaDeMCod Disc Golf Club/Mash ee Recreations 9,Hale Disc Golf Course: <br /> David Boardman of Cape Cod Disc Golf was in attendance on behalf of Andrew McManus to <br /> review the options considered for the siting of the proposed disc golf course. This includes 156 <br /> Ashumet Road, 101 Redbrook Road adjacent to the Fire substation, and the wooded areas behind <br /> the Mashpee High School athletic fields. <br /> The proponents of the Cape Cod Disc Golf Club are expected to meet with the Select Board at <br /> their meeting of January 9,2023 to review site considerations. The parcel of land to be used for <br /> the course is therefore pending approval by the Select Board. <br /> The Community Preservation Committee was requested to provide a letter of support of the <br /> concept to build a disc golf course in the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Smith to approve and recommend to the May 2023 Special Town <br /> Meeting, the 9-Hole Disc Golf Course project in the amount of$200,000. Funds shall <br /> derive from the 10% Open Space/Recreation Reserve upon site selection to be determined <br /> by the Select Board. <br /> Motion seconded by Mrs. Thayer <br /> VOTE: 3-4. Motion does not carry. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Ms.Russell, yes Mrs. Thayer,yes Mr.Hyde,no Ms.Waygan, no <br /> Mr.Larkin, no Ms. Barbee, no Mr. Smith, yes Opposed,(4) <br /> Discussion followed. It was agreed a site must be identified prior to action. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Smith to send a letter of support of the concept of constructing a disc <br /> golf course in the Town of Mashpee pending approval of a site location by the Select Board. <br /> Motion seconded by Ms. Barbee. <br /> VOTE: 6-1. Motion carries. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Ms.Russell, yes Mrs. Thayer,yes Mr. Hyde, no Ms.Waygan,yes <br /> Mr.Larkin,yes Ms. Barbee,yes Mr. Smith, yes Opposed,(1) <br />
