On August 12, 2021, our office received a call from Eileen Schoener, of Elder Services. She
indicated that Ms. Soldana's case had been elevated from their assistance program to protective
services. Ms.Schoener stated that Ms. Soldana is an excellent candidate for clean-up assistance
because she does not drive and does not have the financial or other means to re-clutter the home
once it is cleaned up. The process will take several weeks, as they must first get cost estimates
and then schedule the clean-up work to be done. She was provided with a copy of the order
letter,so she could ensure all violations would be addressed.
The Assistant Health Agent stopped by the property to check on the occupant and to see if any
progress had been made with the removal of items within the dwelling. The Assistant Agent
reported that not much had been done. On September 1,2021,the occupant's daughter and the
occupant called to state that the occupant would be requesting a postponement of the hearing
as the occupant had to go to the doctor for pre-surgery medical help. The occupant also stated
that a truck was to come next week to take some items away. The occupant was told that the
next meeting would be on the 23rd at 6 pm.
There being no further comments or discussion Kripani Patel motioned to continue the hearing of
48 Tri-Town Circle to the next meeting. Motioned seconded by Ernest Virgilio. Roll Call Vote:
Ernest Virglio (yes), Brian Baumgaertel (yes) Kripani Patel (yes)VOTE: Unanimous(3-0)
2. COVID-19 Update. In regard to vaccinations, no requests for information have been made to the
Board of Health office. The Fire Chief has scheduled two clinics at Christ the King Church with the
help of the Community Health Center. They are scheduled for September 8th and 29th with Pfizer
vaccine. A vaccination clinic set up at Naukabout Brewery to get more of the crowd that is
resisting the vaccine, is one idea. Waiting to hear back from Peter Murner. Next choice could be
Cape Cod Coffee. Calls have come in to the health department on the third shot or booster. The
health department has been communicating with the schools regarding their start up procedures
regarding masks, seating distances, etc. Stacey Schakel, the School Nurse Coordinator is set up to
start contact tracing again and communication between the VNA and CTC have been re-
established. The Council on Aging is getting their activities going again so they have been asking
questions, too. Masks for the schools,town-wide and at the Kids Klub will be on the agenda for
the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
1. Review and approval of expense warrants. Mr. Harrington stated that there are two expense
warrants.Warrants signed Brian Baumgaertel, Ernest Virgilio and Kripani Patel.
2. Title 5 Variance Request — 23 Jeep Place. Mr. Raul Lizardi, Engineer for Cape and Island
Engineering, introduced himself for the record. Mr. Lizardi explained that the project was for a
proposed 2 car garage. The existing leaching field in the backyard previously had two variances in
2001 and 2003, one for leaching field and the other for septic. The location of proposed garage
makes a corner of existing leaching field too close to the slab. He asking for a variance to
reconfigure the leaching field, keep the other two variances from 2001 & 2003 but add another
variance for the slab. There will be no increase of flow and a liner will be used. Mr. Lizardi
explained that this same plan and application was to go in front of Conservation because of the
close coastal bank. Mr. Harrington asked for clarification about the liner. Was it used with the
original insulation? Mr. Lizardi answered, that is how the plan was approved. Mr. Harrington
2
