Minutes of Meeting <br />Plan Review Committee <br />Tuesday, January 17, 2023 <br />Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room <br />Jack Phelan, Fire Chief <br />Mr. Phelan wanted a list of chemicals that will be stored, and fire alarms. Mr. Brooks <br />mentioned that they are currently located on Industrial Drive and will work with the owner to <br />get the list. There will be fire alarms installed. <br />Mr. Phelan wanted to know the drive surface around the building, and the turning radius. Mr. <br />Ojala said pavement all around, and a 25 ft. radius with the standard DOT. <br />Mr. Ojala spoke about the storm water plans as required by the Town. They are proposing <br />to maintain grass lined areas and hooded catch basins with a very robust overflow system <br />to maintain any water runoff onsite. There will be large dry wells located in the rear. The site <br />is not in a Zone 2, and will protect the ground water. <br />Evan Lehrer, Town Planner <br />He suggested peer review for the ZBA. He suggested at a minimum to have Mr. Ojala work <br />with the contractors to submit inspection reports with a stamp in accordance to the design, or <br />hire Mr. Pesce or another consultant to do onsite inspections. <br />Catherine Laurent, DPW Director <br />There is an existing drainage easement along Commercial St. One side is for drainage on <br />Mercantile, and the other is a drainage system for Commercial St. She reviewed the original <br />plan for Mercantile but couldn't locate the original for Commercial St. She wanted to make <br />sure that there are no alterations to the system on Commercial St. There's a head wall with <br />piping. <br />Mr. Ojala mentioned that there's a catch basin at the intersection on Mercantile, and will not <br />interfere with that easement. There will be very little fill provided on the north end of that site <br />and will keep the utilities deep underground, and will be covered with loam and seed. <br />David Morris, Building Commissioner <br />He suggested peer review for the ZBA. Mr. Lehrer suggested that a conversation with the <br />Board members regarding the concerns of that easement area. He doesn't believe this project <br />requires a full peer review. <br />Mr. Ojala mentioned that he could provide an affidavit as part of the controlled construction. <br />Mr. Morris agreed. <br />Mr. Ojala will provide a Cape Cod berm, not a rolled berm. <br />
