He noted there will be children’s activities, information
tables, and entertainment.

Ms. Stevenson stated the Donovan’s are involved with the Baha’i and they made a nice
donation. We also wrote a grant and have money from Mass Cultural Council.

Mr. Klein noted the banner is complete and he will pick it up this week.

Ms. Wilson made a reminder about not using gift cards this year for Race Amity Day
entertainers.

Ms. Johnson-Graham stated someone from WBZ4 may come to Race Amity Day to cover the
story.

Planning Holocaust Remembrance
The international acknowledgment is in January. She would like to focus on that month.
Marsha Smith is the woman behind this program and the fee to show the video is $600. Ms.
Stevenson was just notified about the cost being covered. A gentleman would come and show
a video and we would hear a survivor’s story.

Mr. Kupferman saw the movie and it’s not anything that would be objected, it’s more about
survival and what this man has gone to do with his life and how he goes to schools talking
about his story.

Ms. Stevenson would like to work with the librarian but host the event at the school auditorium
and possibly offer credits to students and invite the community.

Ms. Wilson mentioned the Anti-Semitism campaign Robert Kraft is running.

NEW BUSINESS
Veterans Initiatives
Mr. Kovary was here along with Heroes in Transition, and now Rebecca Hopwood is here to
share what she is doing with veterans. Mr. Kovary continues to reach out asking for help
identifying veterans in the community.

She will be having a meeting at the Senior Center with Richard DeSorgher, there is a group of
100 veterans at South Port. One of the first initiatives this Committee supported was the
designated veteran’s parking spot at the Community Park, there are two spaces.
4
