Mashpee Inclusion and Diversity Committee
16 Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA 02649
come guest speak, an inspirational woman who talks about people with physical differences.
Chair was given the webpage, she is local to Plymouth and she has dwarfism. Chairwoman
believes this would be a wonderful possibility. The Health Agent will be a guest speaker in
October and the immigrant community reaches out to him often. After the reception she was
approached and told there needs to be more connections made like this.
OLD BUSINESS
Budget: Future Expenditures
We have $2000 for this coming fiscal year.

Race Amity Day Update
The final report has been submitted thanks to Lisa Frye, who helped with the budget on the
report. The application is already in for 2024. Through the coalition we may have a performer
contact. The subcommittee will be starting in September this year. Several performers wanted
to come but were already booked this past celebration. Mr. Kupferman gave kudos to Ms. Kent
and Mr. Klein for their continued efforts.

Mr. Brandt asked a question regarding fundraising, which is not permitted, but Chair noted the
bank is helpful, we apply for grant money, and we can be gifted money. Mr. Collins does not
want to have a volunteer committee with a budget, but we are part of the Human Services
Department. We also have volunteers from the community that help work on the RAD
subcommittee. She noted she would like to see the Police and Fire Departments have a table
next year, or even a truck for kids.

Holocaust Remembrance Event
There is a local supporter in the community who wants to fund this gentleman guest speaker
and pay $600 to bring him to Mashpee. It will take place around International Holocaust
Remembrance Day in January. How do we get people to come? How can we get the school
together to participate? Sandwich DEI is hosting an event on the holocaust so she would like
to see their attendance. This trickles into Diversity Day. If we were to work on the Diversity Day
program, maybe we could coordinate the same gentleman to speak. We could use him during
the day at the school. This is a program of hope, survival, and remembrance. It might be sad
but it’s important.

Ayesha noted the presenters and performers are still being figured out, they focus on ageism,
classism, and racism. It has yet to be confirmed but she will follow up with Ms. Purdy. It may
be harder to get participation as there were some issues around planning.

Advisory/Task Force Belonging Project
Postponed
