<br />MINUTES <br />Discussion and approval of the December 14, 2023 Sewer Commission Meeting minutes. <br />A motion was made by Mr. Towle to approve the minutes of the December 14, 2023 Sewer Commission <br />meeting. <br />Motion seconded by Mr. Lyons. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />None at this Time. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Introduction of Mashpee Wastewater Superintendent, Jared Meader and remarks. <br />Vice-Chair Harris gave Mr. Meader a heartfelt welcome on behalf of the Commission. <br />Mr. Meader introduced himself and offered some information about himself. He stated that he is from the <br />Vineyard, has completed 2 tours in Iraq and now resides in Centerville. <br />Mr. Meader said he uses the common sense approach when it comes to wastewater. He stated that he is very <br />policy driven and always takes the taxpayer’s views. <br /> <br />2. State Revolving Loan Approval and what it means moving forward for the next Sewer Project Plans. <br />Sandra Tripp of GHD provided some broad background and stated that she thinks it would be beneficial for <br />Weston and Sampson and GHD to come up with a path forward with something in writing that can be share <br />with Town Hall and the Commission. <br />Sandy went on to report that Phase 2 is on the Intended Use Plan (IUP) in draft form with the DEP. She said <br />that the project is well positioned to receive funding. She said that the Town has a 99% chance of being on <br />the final IUP. She said that sometime in January or February will be the final approach and the next step for <br />the Town will be to appropriate the funds at May Town Meeting. <br /> <br />3. Status of the Funded Design for the 1,288 Additional Properties. <br />Sandra Tripp stated that the Town currently has the draft contract that has been reviewed by Weston and <br />Sampson (OPM) as well as Town Counsel. <br /> <br />4. Sewer Construction Update, including Operational Projected Timeframe – GHD. <br />Sandra gave a Sewer Construction Update presentation. She said that moving forward she will be presenting <br />the status of the construction at the first meeting of the month rather than the second meeting of the month <br />because it will be more timely and current. <br /> <br />The work is moving inside at the WWRF due to weather. <br />The metal roof is complete on the process building. Translucent panels have been installed. The panels are <br />removable and are used when equipment is brought in or removed. The chemical tanks are ready to be <br />installed. <br /> <br />The preliminary treatment building is further along. The siding and roofing is complete. The windows and <br />doors are not in yet. There is FRP plywood ceiling installed now. They are starting to install the head works. <br /> <br />The collection system north has not had any major work done recently. They will be doing final pavement in <br />the spring. <br /> <br />The collection system south work has been on Quinaquisset Ave. and will be there for the next 3 weeks doing <br />pipe testing, pavement and manhole cover installations. <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
