NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1 Committee Reorganization — Annual reorganization and Election of Officers and 2024 <br /> meeting calendar <br /> Mr. Morris made a motion to keep officers as assigned, Ms. Meehan seconded the motion. <br /> Committee meeting dates for 2024 would be as follows: January 11tn, March 14tn, May 9tn, <br /> July 11tn, September 121n and November 14tn <br /> 2. MOD Memo on Town Meetings <br /> As an FYI Chairman Blum distributed a memo from the Massachusetts Office on Disability <br /> titled, "Reasonable Accommodations at Town Meetings" to ensure that the Town is in <br /> compliance. The memo addressed legal obligations for Massachusetts towns for Boards of <br /> Selectmen, Town Managers, and municipal ADA Coordinators. The memo is dated 6/4/23. <br /> Mr. Morris stated that he does annual inspections and he could not think of a town building <br /> that is not in compliance. <br /> Chairman Blum asked if the apartments that are proposed in the Mashpee Commons meet <br /> minimum ADA requirements. Mr. Morris said that he has not received their final permits, <br /> although they have been to the Select Board. <br /> In regard to Oktoberfest next year Mr. Morris will speak with Director Bradbury to ensure <br /> that temporary parking signs are put up for handicapped parking. <br /> 3. MOD "Emergency Preparation" Training held at COA in August <br /> The Massachusetts Commission on Disability (MOD) in partnership with the COA held a <br /> training presentation at the COA on emergency preparedness to ensure that residents have <br /> the assistance they need in times of emergency. The committee discussed the possibility of <br /> having a table at the National Night Out event in the fall of 2024 for greater visibility. <br /> 4. DHCD Affordable Housing marketing plan <br /> The "Affirmative Fair Housing Marketing and Resident Selection Plan Guidelines" were <br /> handed out at the meeting. Committee members are to read on their own time and <br /> discussion will take place at the November meeting. <br /> 5. Tribal Construction Projects <br /> Chairman Blum questioned if the committee should be providing something that we are <br /> currently not doing? Mr. Morris stated that tribal land is just that. No other comments were <br /> provided. <br /> 2 <br />
