Sandra reported that the Contractor has not yet requested a time extension on the treatment <br />plant contract. She stated that they will. They have expended 80% of the contract time with <br />154 days left in the contract and they are 76% complete. The contract value is at $29.9 million <br />and they have been paid $22.8 million to date. <br /> <br />The $5 million collection system north project has seen significant payments in the past couple <br />of months with 43 days left in the 636 day contract which is 94% of time expended and are 85% <br />complete. Sandra said that she expects a credit back to the Town on this contract at the end of <br />this project. <br /> <br />There are 154 days left on the collection system south project. They are 80.5% of time <br />expended and they are close to $10 million on contract value with $8.8 million being expended. <br /> <br />Sandra updated the Commission on Phase 1A, the alternate rebid project. She reminded <br />Commission that the Engineer’s estimate on this project was $5.2 million and the low bid was <br />$4.7 million. All of the bids came in between $4.7 and $6 million. Over the last couple of <br />months the authorization to award was received and the project has been awarded, the <br />contracts have been signed by all parties and the notice to proceed has been issued. The <br />thth <br />contract began on July 10. There is a preconstruction meeting being held tomorrow, July 17. <br />Sandra stated that this is a 19 month contract scheduled to complete in February 2026. <br /> <br />It was reported that soil boring crews and surveyors are out working on the Phase 2 design. <br />The boring should be complete by the end of July and the surveyors will be out a bit longer. <br />Sandra said that 30% of the design for the linear work is complete and 5 out of the 6 pump <br />stations have been finalized and preliminary permitting for the project has begun. Jared <br />Meader stated that there won’t be a pump station in Pirate’s Cove and there will be low <br />pressure grinder pumps installed at 25% of the properties in that area and construction will <br />begin in July of 2024. <br /> <br />Chair Harris asked for clarification on the completion of Phase 1 and Sandra said that they are <br />looking at July of 2025. <br /> <br />2. Discussion of implementing a policy to collect pertinent information from health <br />agencies that test sewer disposal for diseases in areas where sewer lines exist. <br /> <br />Jared Meader stated that he has been in discussions with the Board of Health on this topic and <br />it was stated that the Health Agent is not in agreement with testing just for the sake of testing <br />and that the information gathered would not be as accurate as what a medical laboratory <br />would gather.
