<br /> <br />A motion was made by Catherine Castaneda to nominate Al Towle as Vice-Chair of the Sewer <br />Commission. <br />Motion seconded by Meredith Harris. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Vice-Chair Harris to nominate Catherine Castaneda as Clerk of the <br />Sewer Commission. <br />Motion seconded by Al Towle. <br />Motion passed by unanimous consent. <br /> <br />WASTEWATER SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE <br /> <br />Jared Meader distributed Warrant Article Placeholders to the Commission. <br /> <br />The first Article Placeholder pertains to the Staffing Plan and is a request to create and fund a <br />full time Facilities Wastewater Operator. This position is necessary to operate and maintain all <br />municipal assets within the Department of Wastewater Management and to ensure compliance <br />with the Town’s Discharge Permit. <br /> <br />The next Placeholder is to request the creation and funding of a full time Facilities Lead <br />Wastewater Operator within the Department of Wastewater Management and to ensure <br />compliance with the Town’s Discharge Permit. <br /> <br />The next Placeholder is a request to utilize funding previously approved under Article 19 of the <br />FY22 May Town Meeting for a groundwater recharge evaluation in the Waquoit Bay watershed <br />to identify a future location to safely and responsibly discharge highly treated wastewater <br />collected in the watershed. <br /> <br />The next Placeholder is to see if the Town will vote to transfer a sum of money not to exceed <br />$150,000 from revenue available for appropriation to fund an evaluation of siting wastewater <br />collection, recharge and treatment facilities in the Waquoit Bay watershed area. <br /> <br />The next Placeholder is to see if the Town will vote to transfer a sum of money not to exceed <br />$45,000 from revenue available for appropriation to fund an evaluation of two existing <br />wastewater facilities in Town to determine if it would be financially advantageous for the Town <br />to convert to municipal assets. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br /> <br />
