MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br /> DECISION FOR A MODIFICATION TO SPECIAL PERMIT(S) <br /> Petitioner,Mark Connolly, d/b/a Fastsigns <br /> Owner of record: Chapter Closed, LLC <br /> 40 Evergreen Circle, Unit 1, Map 19, Parcel 10-4 <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> (SP-2021-34; SP-2023-28) <br /> SP-2024-11 <br /> A letter was read into the record dated March 12, 2024 from Fire Chief Phelan stating; "The <br /> designed fire alarm system proposed by Cape Cod Alarm has not been completely installed and <br /> will not be ready for inspection until next week. The system designed is based on the original S-1, <br /> Moderate Hazard Storage. If there is a change in the Use Group, the Fire Department requests <br /> the building be evaluated and a system be installed that meets Massachusetts Fire Code 527 CMR, <br /> 1.00 and the State Building Code. " <br /> An email from Evan Lehrer, Town Planner comments dated March 13, 2024 was read into the <br /> record. "I recommend approval consistent of the recommendations by the Plan Review Committee <br /> and any subsequent comments submitted by the Mashpee Fire Department. " <br /> The Board read the Plan Review Committee meeting minutes dated January 16, 2024 into the <br /> record. "The Plan Review recommended that the ZBA approve the request for a Special Permit <br /> Modification on the condition that the Fire Department is satisfied with the facility sprinkler plan <br /> as well as an emergency egress plan, lighting plan, life safety plan, and that the parking ratios are <br /> verified for compliance. " <br /> Mr. Goldstein asked Mr. Connolly if there will be any sign wraps to vehicles on site. This question <br /> was not asked by any members at the Plan Review meeting. <br /> Chairman Bonvie wanted to confirm if having vehicle sign wrap is an allowed use. Mr. Connolly <br /> stated that there is a garage bay that would accommodate vehicles for sign wrapping and does not <br /> take that long to process. <br /> Chairman Bonvie wanted to know if there anything else in needed to be addressed that was part of <br /> the original Special Permit. Mr. Morris said he was not aware of any other comments. He had <br /> nothing further to address, and anything else will be addressed during the building permitting <br /> process. <br /> Mr. Connolly stated that a percentage of his customers would be at off-site locations, and could <br /> also be made at the facility. The material could be PVC, wood, plastic, or metal, depending upon <br /> the customer's request. He uses environmentally friendly ink. <br /> Mr. Furbush asked if there were any concerns discussed from the Fire Department regarding <br /> flammables. Mr. Goldstein stated that the Fire Department provided their comments, and the <br /> building is under 7,500 sq. ft. <br /> Mr. Morris mentioned that this facility is under 527 CMR and the Fire Chief s discretion. <br /> 2 <br />
