After tree removal,
fill material was brought in for grading. Additionally, two 4-foot retaining walls were
constructed at the front left corner of the foundation. Finally, grass and other plantings were
added along the left side of the wooded area.
COMMISSIONERS COMMENTS
• Remaining Stabilization Area:
o Behind the patio is the only area that still needs stabilization.
• Patio Material and Slope:
o The patio consists of Ever Blue, a natural porcelain paver. It was dry-laid over
crushed stone and secured with plastic edging.
• Fill Status:
o Yes, the fill material is still present.
• Sod Composition Inquiry:
o The Commissioners have inquired about the makeup of the sod. The
representative is currently uncertain and will follow up with New England Turf
for clarification.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
There were no public comments.
AGENT COMMENTS
The agent explains to the Commission that the DEP wetlands overlay reveals a small,
abandoned bog that has been converted into a freshwater wetland. Based on onsite
measurements, only a portion of the patio falls within the 100-foot buffer zone. Importantly, the
retaining wall lies entirely outside their jurisdiction, and the deck is positioned beyond its
boundaries. The homeowners were unaware of this wetland jurisdiction.
Additionally:
• All landscaping and hardscaping work falls within the outer 50-100 ft buffer zone.
6
