BANKER &TRADESMEN
Jamie spoke with Mary Lou Bigalow, the coordinator at the Banker and Tradesmen
Publications Office, about putting the EDC ad in the paper by the July b deadline and j
has faked her the EDC ad. He told the committee that this is a statewide publication.
Sid asked about getting quotes. Tom told him the Selectmen had already approved
the funds for the ad. If the EDC does not run the ad at this time it would be
necessary to go through approval process again. Ted asked if this ad is for a one-
time spot in the paper. 'Jamie told him this publication would be published once
and that it has a good shelf life, offers good exposure for the committee and is a
good resource. Jamie recommended the EDC submit-the ad which would cost $320.
Sid said this publication is very large, there are all kinds of ads -- wanted to know
what percentage of one-time insertions are that effective? Ted asked if ad gets "good
mileage" and suggested that it might be worthwhile to see what results they get
from the ad. Jamie told committee.he would like to go to Bob Whritenour for
suggestions and make sure it has been budgeted and allowable. Jamie felt that the ad
would get word out about the EDC committee and would help in marketing the
guide book. Nelson agreed that this was a good idea. Ted motioned that Jamie
follow through on this and the committee voted to approve.
COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Committee reviewed job description for coordinator position. Ted did not like
wording, suggested that the line about "an excellent opportunity for a recent retiree"
be removed.
CAPE COD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIUS REPORT
Sid showed committee the report published by the Economic Development Council.
5
