MINUTES July 1 , 1993 2 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> the lot owner of lot 171 advising them to follow through with <br /> public water service as there is a potential health hazard <br /> in utilizing their existing well and a letter to the owner of <br /> lot 168 strongly advising the installation of public water <br /> service, Mr. Ball seconded, all agreed. <br /> 3 . ) Correspondence from State re: Pre-treatment plant - <br /> Mr. McQuaid relayed, "There is a meeting scheduled July 7, <br /> 1993 at 2 :00 p.m. . with Mr. Cromby in Lakeville. " "D.E.P. did <br /> request a Health Agent and Board member to attend. " "The Ex- <br /> ecutive Secretary and Selectmen Costa are planning to <br /> attend. " <br /> 4. ) Letter from B.C.H.E.D. re: Tobacco Control Program. - <br /> Mr. Evans stated, "I did attend a meeting today in Yarmouth. " <br /> "They anticipate there will be grants available ranging from <br /> $125,000.00 to $150,000.00 . " "The County and representatives <br /> from surrounding towns agreed a Cape wide proposal would be <br /> more feasible rather than individual town regulations. " <br /> "They propose to prepare a R.F.P. and employ three indi- <br /> viduals, at the County level, to perform the necessary work. " <br /> "The County must respond with a proposal within the allotted <br /> frame. " "The proposal will be forwarded to each town's Board <br /> of Health for their review and comments and will require the <br /> town administrator's signature. " <br /> Mr. Doherty presented to Board members a draft letter <br /> regarding a smoking policy for Mashpee food establishments. <br /> "I would recommend we forward a copy to each food establish- <br /> ment and request their comments within 30 days from the date <br /> of mailing. " <br /> Board members agreed. <br /> 5. ) Proposed revisions to Title V_ - Board members will re- <br /> view the proposed revisions. <br /> 6 . ) Pro osed Fall Town Meeting Articles - Mr. Greelish di- <br /> rected the Agent to forward a memo to the Executive Secretary <br /> requesting a progress report on the co-meeting with Sandwich <br /> and Mashpee Selectmen regarding the septage pretreatment <br /> plant. "We will require an article for the October Town <br /> Meeting to raise and appropriate a sum of money. " <br /> 7. ) Letter from Canco re: Se to a dis osal - Mr. McQuaid <br /> relayed, "A septage facility in Rhode Island is offering <br /> lower rates to dispose of septage. " "Canco is requesting the <br /> Board' permission to utilize the facility. " <br /> Mr. Greelish recommend the Board approve the request on <br /> a temporary basis and request Canco provide a copy of the <br /> agreement. <br /> t <br /> a <br />
