MINUTES June 2:3 , 1994 3 BOARD Of' HEAL`h <br /> PPOINTMEN`1': Craig Lindell -- Bio-Clere <br /> Mr. Lindell was in attendance for this scheduled ap- <br /> pointment. <br /> Mr. Ball informed Mr. Lindell , "The Board is questioning <br /> the amount of coliform that is removed after ultraviolet <br /> treatment. <br /> Mr. Lindell interpreted for Board members the chart pro- <br /> vided by Defeo & Waite Associates which is prior to u.v. <br /> treatment. <br /> Mr. McQuaid informed Mr. Lindell the Board is requesting <br /> scientific data on the effects of u.v. treatment. <br /> Mr. Lindell relayed, "I must obtain that information <br /> from England which will take some time. "I could set up a <br /> conference call with a u.v. distributor. " "We will not in- <br /> stall these systems into seasonal homes. " <br /> Discussion took place regarding nitrogen removal. <br /> APPOINTMENT: Aro Engineering - 134 Algonquin Avenue <br /> Mr. Robert Raymond, P.E. was in attendance for this <br /> scheduled appointment. <br /> Mr. Raymond relayed, "We are requesting a local variance <br /> from the proposed leaching facility to an abutting well and a <br /> 10' State sideline variance. " <br /> Mr. McQuaid questioned Mr. Raymond as to whether abut- <br /> ters were notified. <br /> Mr. Raymond responded, "No. " <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated, "This is a formal Title V hearing. " <br /> "The abutter's Attorney has requested to be notified of any <br /> hearings. " "I requested the Conservation Agent to verify the <br /> delineation from the edge of the wetlands to the proposed <br /> septic system. " "Mr. Sherman indicated to me on several oc- <br /> casions that he has been unable to identify the edge as the <br /> flags at the edge of the wetlands were not properly denoted <br /> so he could not measure the distance from the proposed leach- <br /> ing facility. " "Mr. Sherman also questioned that with his <br /> instruments he may be unable to verify the delineation. <br /> "This may require the Board of Health to demand a verifica- <br /> tion of the wetlands delineation in which case the Conserva- <br /> tion Commission would require of the applicant to hire a pro- <br /> fessional environmental engineer capable of doing that.
