MINUTES July 2, 1998 3 BOARD OF HEALTH <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to renew the Transfer Station/Landfill contract between the <br /> Town of Mashpee and S. Joseph DiMaggio for fiscal year 1999, Mr. Cram seconded. <br /> 6) Pond V.O.C. test results - Mr. McQuaid stated, "The initial sampling of ponds of <br /> April 27, 1998 detected Toluene at 0.7 p.p.b., the limit is 70 p.p.b.." "Total xylenes came <br /> up with 0.9 p.p.b. with a limit.of 2000 p.p.b.." "MBTE came up with 2.3 p.p.b. with a <br /> limit of 70 p.p.b.." "Subsequent to this test the lab called me to retest." "I retested the <br /> next week." "Those samples were clean." "We are attributing the minor v.o.c.'s found <br /> to recreational motor boats." <br /> Acknowledged. <br /> 7.) Landfill Closure bid results - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "Weston and Sampson <br /> investigated Crowell' Construction and found them to be satisfactory." "Mr. Cram's <br /> signature is required on the"Intent to Award"letter." <br /> Mr. Cram forwarded his signature to the "Intent to Award"letter. <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to award the bid for the Closure Plan for the Asher's Path <br /> Sanitary Landfill to Crowell Construction, Mr. Cram seconded. <br /> 8.) Variance request, 29 Wilsons Grove and 14 Tulip Shell Way <br /> 29 Wilsons Grove - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "This is an exceptionally small lot." "We did <br /> a perk test out there which passed however, variances are necessitated." "The applicant is <br /> not increasing the number of bedrooms." <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to grant a 5' and a 3'2" variance from the proposed leaching <br /> facility to the sideline, a 8' variance from the property line to the septic tank and a 2' <br /> variance from the proposed septic tank to the foundation, Mr. Cram seconded. <br /> 14 Tulip Shell Way - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "In order to upgrade the system and <br /> maintain the greatest distance possible from the wetlands the applicant is requesting a 5' <br /> variance from the proposed leaching facility to the street property line, a 7' variance from <br /> the street property line to the septic tank and a 9' variance from the leaching facility to the <br /> foundation." <br /> Mr. Ball motioned to grant the variances as stated by Mr. McQuaid, Mr. Cram <br /> seconded. <br />
