20
Mrs. Murphy continued that she has been inundated too with the flies. She doesn't
like them. They are a hazard to her horses. When she is telling the BOH that not
one of her horses is worth less than $10,000.00. She is telling them the God's
honest truth. She has two in her barn that are New England Champions from this
little town of Mashpee in all New England. She is not going to take a chance with
those horses. She doesn't want any health hazards around. If the BOH can tell her
how if you live on a farm that you can get rid of dust when it is dry. How she can
get rid of flies when God chooses to let the fly population loose. Get rid of the urine
smell. Mr. Harrington was there on a rainy cloudy musty day. He was standing
next to the manure trailer. She limes it. Her stalls are limed everyday. She feeds
them "Equitrol". She gave Mr. Harrington the copy of the "shoo fly" where she gets
the stuff for her sprayer. She put over $25,000.00 into that barn to re-shingle and
re-siding it. It was a mess when they bought it. They know what the problems
where. They couldn't do anything until they sold the property in West Barnstable.
They have tried to address everything. They don't want her to have a diesel truck.
She needs a diesel truck. She pulls a six-horse trailer. She will show anyone that
she can throw a lead shank over anyone of her horse and they will walk right into
the trailer. They are hauled every single weekend. They are taught when they are
babies to load in the trailer. Mr. Proverb's bedroom is right there. It is not her
problem. She did not build his house. She loads the horses within the arena with
the exception of those two weeks when the arena was flooded. That was the
morning when she was alone. Mr. Proverb came over and started screaming in her
face. That is why he has a no trespassing order. He parks it there to aggravate her
because he knows that she can't back the trailer into the arena. She has learned
and now she can do it and get around her car. Now he goes out and moves it
because he sees her driving and doesn't think she is capable. Kim (Mrs. Herrera),
she has done everything that she can for her and her grandmother. She doesn't
have any horses back there. But, she can. She didn't put that fence line there. She
didn't give anybody building permits. They bought that place because her
granddaughter has cerebral palsy. This is her therapy. These are her horses. Her
babies as she calls them. She has a 4-H club. She has ten kids in her 4-H club.
They are there weekends and nights. They want to be with the horses. She has
done everything that she can possibly do. If the BOH can tell her how she can
alleviate these problems living on a farm. She is not going to be harassed. She is
not talking about the BOH. She is talking about her neighbors sending people after
people after people. It is none of their business if she leases horses. She is still
paying for them. It becomes their business if she has more than ten horses. She
has six horses now and tomorrow she could have ten. She pays $50.00 per year
because it does vary. Some go off for training; she may get a new one in. She buys
babies every year. She trains the babies. She loves the babies. Her kid shows the
babies. She has other people show the horses for her. They are her horses. If they
want to take her to court about it that's fine. Twenty times twenty visits she has
had over the years. This is the first time Mr. Harrington has been there. The
manure trailer wasn't covered. She will admit to that. There is manure filling in
that hole. She could have had that covered the other day. The tree company came
along the other day and left all the brush. She didn't know which utility company it
was.
