You come back in here in two <br /> years to add something to or remodel the house then you need engineered plans. <br /> People are thinking ahead. If you are going to do the upgrade you might as well do <br /> it now. <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that it is an existing three-bedroom with a three-bedroom <br /> system. <br /> Mr. Ball made a motion to approve the variances as follows: The septic tank will be <br /> 3 1/2' off the crawl space. The SAS. and the reserve S.A.S. will be 3' off the street <br /> property line. The reserve S.A.S. will be 5' off the northeast property line. <br /> Mr. Doherty then asked for comments. <br /> Mr. Harrington replied that his only comment was that they are providing 10' from <br /> the septic tank to the property line. They aren't requesting a variance right now. <br /> But, in actuality they would have more room if they slid it over. However, they <br /> would have to notify the abutter to do it. The 3 1/2' is pretty tight. That is, again, <br /> up to the contractor to use shoring or not. Splitting the difference would probably <br /> make more sense and be easier for the contractor. It is something that will have to <br /> be maintained when the system goes in. <br /> Mr. Santos seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> 2. Approve minutes of Odtober 18, 2001 <br /> Mr. Ball made a motion to approve he minutes of October 18, 2001, with the full <br /> board present. Mr. Santos seconded the motion. Motion passed. <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> A. Testing of Seasonal I/A Systems <br /> Mr. Harrington began by stating that a couple of weeks ago he met with John <br /> Roland from J & R Engineering who does the sales for the Fast Systems. He asked <br /> Mr. Harrington if the BOH members would entertain changing the requirements for <br /> the testing of Fast Systems that are installed on seasonal homes. <br /> Mr. Doherty stated that the first thing that comes to mind is that those systems in <br /> particular are the ones that cause him the most concern. <br /> Mr. Harrington replied that Mr. Doherty's concerns were understandable. However, <br /> Mr. Roland's concern is that the unit, when it is not in use, provides incorrect <br /> information at the time of the quarterly testing. He would like to change the times <br /> to the beginning and the end of summer. <br /> Mr. Doherty stated that he was open to anything that is productive. <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that he is not stating that the O & M wouldn't need to be <br /> done. The 0 & M still needs to be done to confirm that the system is still operating <br />
