6
Mr. Ball again recommended that they continue the discussion until Mr.
Doherty and Mr. Santos do a site visit.
Mr. Bernie Tolassi asked when the other two board members were going to visit
the site.
Mr. Ball replied that the BOH meets every other week. So, hopefully he would
hope that the other board members would accomplish this task and get them
back on the agenda in the following week. He continued that it was absolutely
necessary to have the whole board present in order to make a decision.
Mr. Santos continued that he didn't know how Mr.Ball felt about the situation.
He felt that the board was kind of split on it.
Mr. Ball deferred commenting until there was a full board.
Mr. Mahoney asked if they couldn't make the decision right now with the two
members present.'
Mr. Ball replied that they could make a decision right now. However, it would
probably be a split decision, which would make it mute. Plus, out of courtesy
they have always respected the other board member, especially on situations
such as this one.
APPOINTMENT: 8 Elizabeth Island Road Cape & Islands Eng.
The applicant is proposing a septic system upgrade for an existing 3 bedroom
house with an addition to remain as a 3 bedroom house that has been designed
in accordance with 310 CMR 15.404 Maximum Feasible Compliance. This
request includes the following variances: 1. The proposed S.A.S. will be 5' off the
street property line. 2. The proposed S.A.S. will be 15' off the cellar wall. 3. The
reserve S.A.S. will be 1' off the street property line and 19' off the cellar wall. The
septic tank will be 7' off the cellar wall.
Mr. Slavinsky was present.to discuss this property. He began by stating that Mr.
Harrington faxed Cape & Islands a request for floor plans, which they passed on
to the owner.
Mr. Ball asked if they were changing the house from three bedrooms to three
bedrooms.
Mr. Slavinsky confirmed that it was three bedrooms. But, he understood where
Mr. Harrington was coming from.
Mr. Harrington replied that he doesn't want any surprises when the applicant
comes for their building permit. He wants to see it up front. That's all.
Mr. Slavinksy asked about just going in.
