9
The lady who works in the BOH lives in their neighborhood. Unfortunately, she
lives too far away to be affected by these issues. He could guarantee you one thing.
If she lived in his house there would be things corrected over there. She lives in the
neighborhood. She flies by there and doesn't stop and look. That's a whole other
issue.
Mrs. Herrera stated that it was "your Roni."
Mrs. Coughlin stated that she called once about a year or a year and one half ago
to find out what rights they had. What was going on and asked a lot of questions.
The man, she couldn't remember his name that was running the department at the
time. He complained to her and said to her, "Well, why did you move in across from
a horse barn. I am tired of all of these complaints."
Mr. Doherty then stated that this was becoming a whole other issue. But, he was
disturbed by it.
Mrs. Debbie Murphy then entered the conversation. She.stated that she was the
owner of the barn. She is very glad to hear of these things. Number one, when they
first moved into the barn they had no idea that they were not supposed to board
horses. When they bought that place Mrs. Lapio told them that they could board
horses. So she went out had obtained boarding contracts and she did have
boarding horses there. She believes it was either in February or March of the first
year that they were there that Bill Hall came out to the house and said this was the
variance. She had never seen it before. When they saw it the boarders left. They are
gone. She doesn't have any barn. Every horse in her barn is either leased by her or
owned by her. They are all registered animals and she has the papers on them. She
has six horses and one arriving within the next two weeks.
Number two; every single department in this Town has been to her property at
various times with no phone calls from anybody warning her or anything. The only
one that has ever called her was June Daley. That was because of a dog bite from a
dog that she owned during the first three months that she lived there. He bit
somebody. She put him to sleep. She was the only one that to say that there was a
problem and of course she has to report a dog bite. She called her and she took
care of the problem.
The flies, she doesn't know what to do. They are houseflies not horse flies. She
feeds her horse "Equitrol" which is digested through their systems and it
supposedly to control flies. Mr. Harrington was at her house on Monday. It was a
rainy muggy day and stepped around her manure trailer. He did not see an
abnormal amount of flies. He walked through her barn. He did not see an
abnormal amount of flies. Why he was there June (animal control officer) was with
him and the fly system went off. It goes off every three hours. She cannot do
anything about houseflies. She doesn't like them anymore than anyone else does.
As far as Kim's (Mrs. Herrera) complaint she explained about her grandmother.
There has not been another horse in that corral behind her house since she came
to her and asked her.
