• 11
there is no mold and no dust. Her horses do not get sick. There is no difference if
she fed them straight alfalfa hay it would be worse. They would have sick horses.
She takes good care of her horses. There is not one horse in that barn that is worth
under $10,000.00. Every single one of them is insured. She is not going to take the
chance.
As far as the fences go, yeah, they are breaking because they weren't installed
property. Every single one of those posts is supposed to be filled with concrete.
There are supposed to be wood slats inside the vinyl. There is nothing there. She
didn't know that and as they are replacing them she is sticking wood in there and
they are trying to do. On the Warwick Avenue side there hasn't been a horse out
there in two weeks. There hasn't been a horse in back of Kim's (Mrs. Herrera). She
doesn't know what all else they want her to do. She is trying her best. Her barn is
cleaned every single day. The paddocks are picked every single day.
Mrs. Coughlin then asked, "Then why does it smell?"
Mrs. Murphy replied, "It is a barn. What can I say? There have been horses there
for years."
Mrs. Coughlin replied, "It didn't smell before."
Then Mrs. Ogg stated that they have been there for 12 1/2 years and they never
complained about Catherine Lapio. They moved in because it was so nice over
there. Never once had a problem with smell, dust or ripping the shingles off the
side of the house. That has been addressed. Only since the Murphy's have they
had a problem. There are some things that are different over there that are
obviously not working. She wasn't sure what it was but it is not the same.
Mr. Doherty then stated that they don't normally get a room full of people
complaining about the same subject, so apparently there is a problem. Certainly
from the BOH perspective we can do is make sure that the rules and regulations
are enforced. Beyond that there are some damaged relationships that he would
hope that amongst your selves they could work on that. It certainly makes for a
better neighborhood than to have adversarial relationships. Mr. Harrington has
been out there and has addressed what he was able to see. He will certainly
encourage him to come b and make stops by a little more frequently in the normal
g Y P
when thinks don't o right. There
operation in the stable. Obviously there are times e g g
are times when things don't go right in our own homes.
Mrs. Herrera interrupted Mr. Doherty and stated that Catherine (prior owner Mrs.
Lapio) really and truly put the screws to Mrs. Murphy. She really did because there
are many many things wrong that this lady (Mrs. Murphy) did not know. But, the
fact still remains. The real sad part is that enemies have been made and the fact
that Catherine could sell all these little pieces of land for residential and keep her
barn is really sad.
Mr. Doherty continued by stating that he would like to address two more issues.
Number one, he was very disturbed that complaints have been made to the BOH
