Ellis announced that two donated boulders have been picked out for <br /> placement on the grounds of the new Center. Grounds have been marked where the trees are to <br /> be planted. Dig Safe has been notified. Tavares has been notified to meet with Clerk of the <br /> Works to coordinate the planting of the donated trees. It will cost$223 to pay for irrigation <br /> reservoirs around the newly planted trees. Jim Marr will handle payment from the contingency <br /> fund to repay Ellis for the installation of the ditches. Landscaping will be postponed to spring <br /> 2005, as it is too late to sod and seed. Hydroseeding is an alternative to sod/seed. Ellis will get <br /> quotes on sod and seed. <br /> Moving. Jim Long reported that Bonnie Oehme, Nutrition Site Manager at the Senior Center, is <br /> being supplied with newspapers in anticipation of packing kitchen items for the move to the new <br /> Center. Jim plans to hire a professional moving company for the job. November 17th will be <br /> devoted to cleaning out files in preparation for the move. Furniture that is to relocate to the new <br /> Center has been marked for the movers. Discussion followed as to whether, and how many, <br /> picnic tables should be moved to the new Center. It was decided that all the picnic tables would <br /> be moved. The decision as to how many of the tables could be utilized at the new Center would <br /> be postponed until after occupation takes place. Jim Long will get a price for the moving of the <br /> tables. <br /> Grand Opening. Iry Goldberg announced a kickoff meeting on Monday, Nov. 8th, at the Senior <br /> Center at 2 PM to discuss grand opening plans. FMSC will be represented at the meeting, as <br /> well as Jim Marr, who will represent the Town. All interested committee members are invited to <br /> attend this meeting. <br /> FUND RAISING <br /> • A benefit golf tournament for the new Senior Center is in the works, to be held on June 1. <br /> 2005, at Quashnet Valley Country Club. FMSC member Jim Chisholm is chairing the <br /> committee to plan the event. <br /> • A piano concert is scheduled for 1/30/05, 2:00 PM at the new Senior Center, demonstrating <br /> the new piano donated to the Center. <br /> • 300 bricks for the rear patio will be engraved, at$100 per brick. The bricks will be concrete, <br /> not clay, as originally planned.
