FURNISHINGS. Iry reported, in Jim Long's absence, that Jim is in the process of <br /> getting quotes. He will work up a brochure for the FMSC that will include a list with <br /> pictures of what is planned for furnishings. <br /> FUND RAISING REPORT. Russ Maloney, the FMSC Vice chairman, reported the <br /> following activities and plans for fundraising: <br /> - doing an insert three times a year in the Chamber of Commerce newsletter as to <br /> Senior Center activities and fundraising opportunities <br /> - a continental breakfast gathering for Townsfolks and volunteers on Saturday, <br /> 3/131/04 from 9 to 11 AM, to enlist their aid in fundraising efforts <br /> - a local graphic artist completed a brochure for fundraising purposes <br /> - letterhead is being printed, with mailing envelopes <br /> - a nonprofit postal stamp has been approved <br /> - installed an answering machine service which is manned daily <br /> - a PO Box has been acquired <br /> - weekly articles in the Mashpee Enterprise about the Senior Center <br /> - Russ plans presentations to the Mashpee Men's Club, Mashpee Women's Club, <br /> the Rotary and other local clubs <br /> Roche Brothers has indicated an interest in getting involved in fundraising for the new <br /> Senior Center. They will be receiving a letter from the FMSC requesting a meeting to <br /> discuss the role the Roche Brothers can play. <br /> To date, the FMSC has raised $20,000 in donations. The plan is to go after the high net <br /> worth individuals first (50 to 70 estimated). Second, the townspeople will be contacted <br /> for donations, and there are 4000 seniors in Mashpee. Last to be contacted will be <br /> businesses, as the traditional rate of return from this group is 8%. <br /> Iry reminded the committee that we cannot directly solicit funds for the project, but can <br /> assist with fundraising events. He urged all building committee members to consider <br /> seriously making a contribution to the FMSC. <br /> The next meeting was scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2004 at 1:30 PM at the <br /> Mashpee Town Hall.
