s' 1 <br /> FUNDRAISING. <br /> Bud Abbott announced that there are six bids received for the kitchen equipment, ranging from $45,000 to <br /> $52,000. Bud noted that there are discrepancies in sizes of tables, for instance, between the specs and <br /> the design drawings which will need to be clarified in order to get a reliable price quote. Iry will contact <br /> JCA to resolve the issue. <br /> Bud announced that he has over$20,000 in donations, to date. He will be contacting foundations, has <br /> done a mailing to State senators and representatives. He has made some business contacts, including <br /> the Chamber of Commerce of which the FMSC is now a member. The Chamber newsletter going out to <br /> all businesses in March will include a flier about Senior Center donor opportunities. A March 13`h <br /> continental breakfast is planned, from 9 to 11 AM, which will be geared toward recruiting volunteers. <br /> There will be a mailing to 50 individuals with assessed wealth of $750,000, with a follow-up phone call. <br /> Next mailing will be to all businesses, with the last mailing to all Townspeople. FMSC has done a direct <br /> solicitation to the Mashpee Mens Club, challenging them to a$25,000 pledge. Bud plans to have an <br /> Honor Roll plaque with names of all donors of$500 or more. A golf tournament is also planned for the <br /> Spring. <br /> DISCUSSION. <br /> Committee Meeting Schedule. Iry reiterated that bills will be submitted on the 25`h of each month. <br /> Going forward, the Committee will meet on the first Monday of each month, for review/approval of the bill. <br /> The committee meeting scheduled for Monday, Feb. 9`h, will be for this purpose. Additional meetings will <br /> be scheduled as needed, depending on work needed on the Study Projects. <br /> Furnishings from the existing Senior Center. The question was raised as to what furniture will be <br /> moved to the new Senior Center. It was thought that files, desks, computers, copiers, TV, could all be <br /> used in the new Center. The refrigerator in the basement used by Elder Services but owned by the COA, <br /> may be moved. <br /> Future Plans for the Existing Senior Center Building. Joyce stated that no definite plans have been <br /> made. It may possibly be used by Leisure Services, Human Services, or slated for use by the Children's <br /> Day Care Program currently housed in an inadequate building on Great Neck Road North. There is also <br /> talk that the property may be sold by the Town, although this is not likely. The Thrift Shop building may <br /> be moved to the new Senior Center, the exact location not yet determined. Various locations were <br /> discussed.
