STUDY PROJECTS <br /> Furnishings—Jim Long. Jim reported that he has a series of booklets from a company Linda <br /> Thorp is involved with, Wholesale Distribution in Cotuit, which offer a range of items from which to <br /> choose. Jim is waiting to see the color boards from JCA. Iry noted that most of the furniture for <br /> the Center probably can be chosen without a color scheme. Jean Noussee and Jim Long will <br /> review the booklets together. Jim suggested it would be a good idea to ask Lynne Waterman as <br /> well as Terry Herman, an interior designer from the Sandalwood area, to sit in on the discussion <br /> of selection of furniture items for the Center. Jim will give a status report on the discussions at <br /> the next committee meeting. <br /> Landscaping—Ed Adams. Iry stated that he has two full size site drawings drawn to scale,for <br /> use by the landscaping subcommittee. A landscaping plan for the site is due from JCA to the <br /> committee. Ed will get the name of the horticulturist from FMSC who is interested in getting <br /> involved in planning the landscaping for the Center. <br /> Irrigation -Art Weinstein/Harold Klegman. Art and Harold reported that there will probably be <br /> grass around the perimeter areas. They need to see landscaping plans, however, before they <br /> can make a final determination as to where the irrigation will be needed. <br /> Security System—Art Weinstein. Art plans to get a count on the number of windows in the <br /> Center that will require security. Iry noted that motion sensors are now being widely used for <br /> building security. <br /> Decorations—Iry Goldberg. Iry plans to coordinate with Jim Long on furniture that is selected. <br /> He will be getting in touch with JCA to provide color schemes. The FMSC is considering ways to <br /> raise funds for contributions to the decorations in the Center. Bud Abbott has the names of <br /> individuals who are interested in coordinating a fundraising shower. <br /> FUNDRAISING <br /> Gail Barrnett, FMSC rep, announced that there is now$20,000 in the fund. There are a number <br /> of fundraising activities in the works. A volunteers breakfast is planned for March 1 e. They are <br /> contacting groups such as the Mashpee Women's Club, and individuals like Linda Steele at Cape <br /> Cod Five, to ask for help in getting people to attend the breakfast. Mailings are also planned for <br /> various groups in the community. Ed Adams mentioned the$25,000 challenge given to the <br /> Mashpee Men's Club as a possible idea for the Mashpee Women's Club. <br /> Art Weinstein read a letter from Tom Baker, a realtor with Jack Conway Realtors, and also <br /> secretary of the Men's Club.
