Meeting With Librarian and Librarian Trustees , cont .. <br /> Library Aide - Mrs . Kingsley explained that the position currently requires <br /> sixteen hours a week for most of the year with nineteen hours in the summer . <br /> the said that they would be submitting an article to increase the position <br /> o twenty hours year-round . Chairman Sullivan advised the Librarian that it <br /> would be tough getting it through the Finance Committee as they are getting <br /> into fringe benefits by increasing the hours . The Board did recommend that <br /> the position be upgraded to a Grade 3 and to place the employee on a Step 4 . <br /> Mrs . Kingsley also advised the Board that they would be looking to hire a <br /> second aide for fifteen hours a week . One of the trustees commented that <br /> the activity at the Library has increased . The Board' discussed the level <br /> of duti.s) required for this new position and it was felt that � the duties <br /> would be the same as the aide position ,already in place . The Board agreed <br /> to submit the article to upgrade the position of Library Aide . <br /> Custodial position -- Mrs . Kingsley explained that the Library presently <br /> has a contract for custodial services and that they feel that they can get <br /> better services if the town adopted the position recommending that it be <br /> ten hours a week and placed at a Grade 2 , Step 1 . All concurred . <br /> Job descriptions for the Library Aide and Custodian positions were presented <br /> to the Board and accepted . The Library Assistant job description was also <br /> accepted by the Board . <br /> Meeting With Recreation Director <br /> Wendy Rubin met with the Board and presented -job descriptions for positions <br /> in the Recreation Department as follows : Parks and Recreation Director , <br /> Program Director , Head Lifeguard , Lifeguard and Recreation Aide . <br /> �endy requested that the Program Directorpositionbe increased to 40 hours <br /> and that the title be changed to Program Supervisor . The. Board was in agree- <br /> ment . <br /> All job descriptions presented to the Board were accepted and the secretary <br /> was asked to format them to keep them uniform with other job descriptions . <br /> With regard to the part-time secretary position in the Recreation. Department , <br /> Wendy advised the Board that the job duties had increased and that she recom- <br /> mended that the title be changed to call the position a part-time secretary <br /> instead of part-time clerk . Chairman Sullivan commented. that he felt it <br /> should be kept in line with other positions of a part-time nature and recom- <br /> mended that it be. changed to Administrative Clerk and upgraded to Grade 4 . <br /> All were in agreement . <br /> Wendy commentedthat she felt a Grade Level 6 was satisfactory for the <br /> Program Director . <br /> r <br /> With reference to her position ,as Park ,and Recreat'ioniDirector , she asked the <br /> Board why it was placed two grade levels below other department head positions . <br /> Chairman Sullivan replied that the M . M.'A . had placed the position at a Grade . <br /> 13 and that other positions under thelplan were moved by the Board of Select- <br /> men and not by the Personnel Board . <br /> eo Turo asked if+•the position was compared•with- surrounding towns stating <br /> that it should be r <br /> compaable : Wendy replied that there' has been a study <br /> done by the Parks and 11 Recreation Association . She mentioned that Yarmouth <br /> is paying their director $28 , 000 - Wendy mentioned that she is not unhappy <br /> with the salary . ( Note : At the present time , Wendy is earning $25 , 632 and <br /> her salary will increase as of July to $$28 , 136 ) . <br />
