LEISURE SERVICES ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JANUARY 6, 1998 <br />MASHPEE TOWN HALL - 6:30 PM <br />Present: Absent: Also Present: <br />Sheila Arnold Ken Marsters Gus Frederick <br />Scott Chausse <br />Pat Riley <br />Kim Whitney <br />Terrie Cook <br />Pat Antonellis <br />I <br />Opening - Sheila Arnold - opened the meeting at 6:31 PM. <br />II Minutes - Pat Riley made a motion to approve the minutes of the Meetings of <br />October 7, 1998. Sheila Arnold seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />III Communications - <br />1. Department of Mental Retardation Conference - Gus Frederick passed out a <br />letter from the Department of Mental Retardation discussing conference on <br />January 8a' which Gus will be attending to give overview of our program - <br />$5,000.00 to integrate individuals with special needs into our program. The <br />first year we brought them to the Ropes Course at Barnstable. The past <br />summer was a good year to integrate with summer camp. <br />There is a 10:30 meeting Monday with the School to go over summer camp <br />hours of operation. <br />2. School Links Program - There is a new Grant proposal out. This is due by <br />February 6. They are going to fund $15,000 to put a plan together to expand <br />this School Links into other areas. <br />IV Old Business - <br />A. Facility Usage - Finalize Recommendations - Gus had a meeting today with <br />Dr. DeMoura, the principals, Terrie Cook, and Maryanne MacDonald. Gus <br />had an updated application which has an additional line for Police Detail to be <br />checked off if needed. <br />Terrie Cook asked if the department had enough help in the office. Gus <br />mentioned that a request for additional help has been put into the budget. <br />Scheduling is a lot of additional work. <br />
