Ovenin : Sheila Arnold opened the meeting at 6:31 PM.
II. Minutes: Pat Riley made a motion to approve the minutes of February, and Pat
Antonellis seconded. Motion carried.
III. Communications: School Memo's - Gus Frederick discussed a memo sent to
Selectmen regarding proposed meeting (memo was sent June 6.) to discuss
Leisure Services agreement. A meeting has been set up for this discussion on
March 30`s. Gus mentioned that this meeting should be posted. The meeting will
be held in the evening on March 30`'.
Terre Cook spoke that the job of scheduling has turned into a big task. The time
has come to revisit this Agreement. Terre Cook feels that the School Department
should be doing this scheduling. Shiela Arnold agrees that scheduling should be
going back to the school. Shiela Arnold feels that more help is needed. Gus
Frederick's concern is that when all this was being planned, it was to be a
Community Building. This is not the way it has been. Tried to get additional
gym. Consequently, we really do not have a Community gym. At times we are
trying to have Quashnet School and the older kids are using the gym. Will we still
have the ability to program and do activities whether or not we have the
scheduling? Pat Riley feels that it should be principals' responsibility.
Gus Frederick is concerned about door not being opened in the evening. There
should be a key for us to open up the door.
Terrie Cook mentioned that doing the scheduling has not allowed Leisure Services
to be a Rec Department.
A discussion took place regarding who should do the scheduling. Gus Frederick
Will be meeting with High School Subcommittee next Monday.
