present at the meeting with the appraisers, as a professional , to
help the committee make an evaluation because they are not
experts in this field.
Mr. Whritenour would like to brief the Board of Selectmen about
the Committee ' s suggestion about Mr. Benway so they know what is
going on.
Tom Fudala explained he and the town assessor came up with a set
of figures to recommend, after reviewing the appraisals .
The Committee decided to go into Executive Session again to
discuss these figures .
Tom Fudala would like a breakdown on the site development costs
as outlined in DRA' s final report and how they calculated the
$50 , 000-70, 000 saving in busing costs .
Mr. Greelish suggested the Committee create a list of items to be
resolved before accepting the report .
The Committee discussed preparing a fact sheet of information to
get out to the voters before town meeting.
Janice Mills asked the everyone to speak about how they feel
about Monday' s Selectmen' s meeting .
Ms . Mills said this Committee should not be beating themselves
up. It is imperative that Mashpee have a high school . She would
love to have it at the Center site but if it means possibly no
school , then it is not worth the war. This Committee still will
be designing the school and we could make the 151 site a terrific
school . She loves this Center site but she doesn 't think; ; it
will happen and she is afraid maybe a school won't happen.
Bill Martiros stated he did not know he if should speak on his
own at the Selectmen' s meeting , so he did make his own statement.
He read an excerpt from the Cape Cod Times article quotes by
Steve Greelish. He takes offense to his remarks that the
Committee ' s mind was made up. His mind was open and he finds it
hypocritical that he accused the rest of the Committee of having
their minds made up when he said, in the article , he would have
voted for the Center site . He asked him to explain this, so we
can go on as a Committee.
Mr. Greelish responded the majority of his feelings were for the
selection of the center site but he abstained because he did not
have enough information. He was very angry because of the shut
• off for commenting because he felt it was pre-orchestrated.
He stated Mr. Martiros had called to ask if he could go along
with a secret ballot . This is an open process and everything is
done above Board.
3
