• Mr. Griffin asked the cost of tuitioning out to Falmouth vs .
educating those students in Mashpee? It now costs $5 , 000 per
student plus busing costs to go to Falmouth. In that case there
is no return to the town.
The Committee agreed the question of cost will come up. It is a
mistake not to answer the question . They agreed to continue this
discussion next meeting , after they have met with the State and
may have more information.
EDUCATIONAL CONSULTANT RFP
Dr. DeMoura prepared an RFP for an educational consultant to work
for this Committee. Mr. Dinizio stated Dr . DeMoura' s concern is
he does not want other people/organizations getting involved in
the educational program. Mr. Vacarro said he does not foresee
any interference.
The Executive Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Selectmen
both agree this Committee should have a Project Manager working
for it.
Ms. Ahlgren noted there is no time proposal in the RFP. How long
will he be hired for? The RFP says this person will say how much
• they are going to charge and the town will decide if they can
afford it.
The Committee has $23, 000 until December.
** Ms. Ahlgren made a motion to authorize Dr. DeMoura to
work with Mr. Writenhour to process the educational
consultant services and get it started. Ms. Mills
seconded the motion . **
Discussion:
Tom Fudala stated the RFP mentions a flat fee for meetings, how
many meetings will there be? It is open ended and therefore
difficult to bid.
Mr. Griffin stated as a Committee, we should decide how long we
will need this person. The Committee discussed it and decided
they will need him until June, 1994. If they need more time
after that they can negotiate getting additional time . The
position needs to begin as soon as possible.
** Amended motion. Ms. Ahlgren made a motion to authorize
Dr. DeMoura to work with Mr. Writenhour to process the
educational consultant services and get it started and a
time frame must be added to the RFP and this Committee
recommends up to June 1 , 1994. Ms. Mills seconded the
motion . All members in favor. **
. Will the educational consultant provide furnishing
specifications? The architect can do that but he will hire
3
