that building .
Merry Sue suggested talking to the 7th and 8th grade teachers now
and get their input.
Back to Michael Pare - Peter asked how he sees himself and Dr.
DeMoura working together to identify educational use of
technology in this school ?
Michael Pare responded that he and Mike Petrowski will be talking
with Dr. DeMoura soon to see what type of technology we really
want to use . Get input from both directions, we will show what
type of technology is available .
Merry Sue mentioned a few people from Sandwich have gone to an
educational technology conference and you may want to get input
from them when they return.
Bill Jones also knows someone who is head of the computer
department at Newton high school .
Peter suggested all these inputs be funnelled through Michael
Pare. He should coordinate all this information and be the person
to talk to Dr. DeMoura.
Merry Sue agreed . When Michael is ready, we should get some of
those resources in .
Peter explained they have told the Architect there is someone on
the Committee very knowledgeable about technology. Michael has
the opportunity to make this what you like but you also have to
realize one of the big issues is cost control - what can we
afford .
Michael agreed. He mentioned that last week. One of the first
things to do is find out what money we have available . We also
must look at what resources we can tap on to for donations. He
noted this all has to be coordinated with the State as well . He
recently met with Dr . P. Robertson and tried to get a feel for
what funds will be available .
Bill Martiros asked where the Committee fits into this process?
Peter responded that it will all come down to the design process .
The technology will be looked at like any other function of the
building . Mike Pare will be the lead person. It is a joint
effort with the Architects.
TASK LIST
Bill Jones prepared a preliminary/suggested Task List. The first
thing to be done is establish the list of tasks that need to be
done . This is just a jump start. We have to, at first, agree on
the tasks.
One of the key functions of the project manager is to formulate a
schedule . The architect will also have their own schedule.
Bill agreed . From the task list you will constantly evaluate your
costs and schedule and constantly update them.
Peter thinks the genesis of this should come from the Architect.
We have to let the architect take the lead .
3
