_ MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, JUNE 21 , 1994 <br /> TOWN HALL <br /> Members Present: Peter Dinizio, Merry Sue Ahlgren , Joe Polito, Bill Jones , <br /> Janice Mills , Bill Martiros, Michael Pare , Steve Greelish , Paul Griffin <br /> Also Present: Ian Aitchison , Ray Bordwell , Ed Frenette , Dan Salien , Norris <br /> McLeod , Tom Fudala, Greg Taylor, Dr . Lincoln DeMoura, Gus Fredricks <br /> MINUTES <br /> Joe Polito said he voted against the motion to put all science labs on the <br /> second floor. <br /> ** Joe made a motion to approve the minutes of June 14 , as amended . <br /> Merry Sue seconded the motion . All members were in favor. ** <br /> REPORT FROM PROJECT MANAGER <br /> Contracts- Chartwell has signed their contract. Ed Frenette said there is <br /> a very minor change to be made to their ' s . <br /> Site Development- survey is almost complete . They will soon need <br /> permission for access to the site , especially the northeast corner . Bob <br /> Whritenour is getting permission from the owners that they are agreeable to <br /> some trees being cut down . <br /> Schedule- SMMA will provide an updated schedule on July 5th . <br /> Budget- Chartwell and Daedalus have reconciled their differences on the <br /> preliminary cost model . Daedalus will start their schematic design <br /> estimate. <br /> Subconsultants- Chartwell has not yet received approval of their <br /> subconsultants from the Town . This work must begin immediately . This is <br /> also true for SMMA. Approval time from the Town will have to be speeded up <br /> a little if this project is going to be kept on schedule . <br /> Schematic Design - SMMA/P&W will present an updated schematic design today . <br /> Performing Arts Center- they showed their site pian in the southwest corner <br /> of the site . The Committee agreed not to move the location of the school . <br /> Meetings- Bob Fournier has meetings on Thursday , June 23 with Police , Fire <br /> and Building Department, Leisure Services and Tribal Council . <br /> Ian, Peter , Bob Whritenour and Tom Fudala met with representatives of the <br /> Housing Authority and presented the site plan . They have no problem with <br /> swapping . They want to know what they are swapping for and what the process <br /> will be . They said they had no use for the back piece of the parcel but <br /> they are looking for some land in exchange from the Town . <br /> Mr . Whritenour has asked Town Council to look at the process for these <br /> trades . <br /> There will be another meeting with them next Wednesday at 7 : 00 p.m. Steve <br /> Greelish will attend on behalf of the Committee. <br /> Value Management Workshop - Ian tried to schedule it for July 11 but the <br /> value management engineer cannot attend so it will be July 18th . <br /> Peter asked how it will be decided to integrate these suggestions? <br /> Ian said recommendations will come back to the Committee and the architects <br /> and the Committee will decide if they want to choose them, review the pros <br /> and cons of each . It may require changes , some major and some minor . <br /> 1 <br />
